happy sunday folks.... abeg who is flying on Christmas day and also @zeezahbee advice on how now to have problems with poe...thanks ya all.....

and pls advice to people stop leaving your application late before you submit...so you won't be looking for emergency date up and down....and when you get your admission and your i-20 has been issued request for a scanned copy so you would use that one to book your date and if the original has not arrived by then...use the scanned one nothing bad.....i pray you all looking for emergency date would get one by the special grace of God and alao your visas...ijn...God bless
True talk jake, early application saves stress. For fall applicants, try submit all needed document asap, this is the time your preferred school international office will have your time and you might prolly get scholarship or assistance.
Jake try and comport at the Poe and answer only questions you are asked and don't look too anxious. Hop u didn't book return ticket because that's also a very fast way to get sent back . Save trip and don't give anyone your passport oo

The ONLY people that can answer this question are the U.S.A. Embassy!

You are wasting time by posting the question here for people who can only guess or give rumors!
Someone might have gotten emergency date and might be willing to give him an idea of what to do , if everything we do here is guess and rumor, then why do people come here everyday to give success stories.

Well we cant say that he went with fake doc cus were not there during his interview, and beside the VO would have banned him hadn't been he went with fake doc but what I know is that he might not be able to convince the VO how related graphic is to account or whatever,
The VO does not have to ban you, if they ban everyone, how many people go enter usa, we have said it here several times, VO doesn't have to ban you , all they will give u is 214b. Only a hardened VO will ban anyone, a lot of people have gone with fake and they got their visa, it doesn't mean the VO is not in his right senses. It could just be a lucky day. If you do not get banned p, then count yourself lucky if you get 214b

Even without filling the bla bla I figure two things out in ur transcript
#sabotec, firsttly, u should have write a standardize test so that the VO will know that u are serious with issue of studying in US, for me going for interview without writing any test is kind of red flag even if your skul didn't ask u to atleast u have to. Lastly, hadn't been u go with with one ur graphic work like the VO ask u to show him you will just present it to convinced him that u r really into art work
My brother book another appointment and go get your visa. Cheers!!!!
The only thing I see is the went with fake document. Read his transcript, he arranged his document through agent/ oluwole. Funny thing, from accounting to graphic bla bla bla

I don't think you have to. As long as you have a valid I-20 with the correct resumption date (make sure you enter before the date of resumption listed on your I-20), you'll be fine. The first visa i got was in March and i didn't go to the US until like August and I had no issues.
Your first visa ?? Was it a student visa ?

My uncle paid through western union on Sunday. It shows in the confirmation receipt that I paid on Sunday the 14th.
The day it was received is Sunday, it doesn't mean it was paid on Sunday , he must had paid earlier than that. I paid on Behalf of someone on Saturday and it hasn't been verified

Alright, thanks. I have another question. My sevis was paid on the 14th which was Sunday.i have printed the confirmation page which shows I have paid.

on the sevis website, it shows this.

If you need a visa interview, the American Embassy/Consulate will be able to verify your payment within two (2) business days after 12/15/2014.

Would this be a problem? 17th is just the second day after the 15th.
Was it on Sunday you sent the money or did you send the money on Sunday and you got your receipt . Just trying to verify something

Sorry about that if you think that way because you should know that immigration officers are funny sometimes and as first timer someone needs to be careful

Even on the US embassy website, we are told that getting U.S visa does not guarantee people entry to U.S, If someone didn't behavior well in the presence of the immigration officer they can send people back.

Maybe zeezahbee will remind you of her experience or what she saw in Spain or so, i cant really remember the country
you still remebered, it was in BARCELONA, they were asking me for schengen visa and if not that i knew the could answer their question well and was not too forward, i for don land muritala. having a visa doesnt automatically means you will get to USA. inshort POE is another interview

Hello house....good aftanoon. I am a new person in dis room so I av no idea who to ask. I'd jst serve my question n hope someone wld parry me d ans.

I got my visa on thursday. Thank God. Months of self-doubts gone...I'll post d questions asked in a subsequent post.

The thing is, when d c.o told me he wld grant me a visa, he gave me bck my i-20 without sealing it in an envelope (which I assume he shld do). Only when I got home n read d brochure did I realise dis fact. Wld it affect me at d port of entry to d u.s??

I'd b grateful if any1 cld ans. I'm alternating between joy n fear rite now. Thanks n Jah bless
where did you read it that VO must seal your i20 in an envelope, what kinda of envelope, he will return the i20 to you back naked.

Zeezahbee,i urgently need your advice and help. My cousin went for her interview on tuesday and was denied visa because she has a pending immigrant application(which has been pending for about 4 years, she didnt even know its still pending and her mum was the sole applicant). Fees have been paid and semesters second week in january. What is your advice, should she re-apply? will the pending immigrant application always stand in the way? Kindly advice
contact the school to return your money, as long as she has a pending immigrant visa, her chances are as slim as a broom.sorry but thats the deep truth. only 1% of people having a pending immigrant application end up getting a non immigrant visa. my own hard truth is tell her to wait for the immigrant visa

House, for instance I'm already a freshman in university A, but before leaving Nigeria, I applied to a university B (the school that I prefer) for the next academic session and got their admission. Is it possible for me to move, kinda like ditch university A and go to university B without having to come back to Nigeria for another i20?

NB- I know direct transfer is possible, but it doesn't come with the incentives that freshman admission goes with.

Please house, help with thoughts on this.
seems you have asked this question before, you must resume at university A, then transfer the next semester. reason why is that you have do not have an i20 university A

Hey, thank you for your response..What about if USCIS gives her a response by January and probably grant her change of status but decides to sit for SAT in January and go back to Nigeria to apply for degree program and enter as a freshman in summer..Is that going to affect her application when she decides to apply for F-1 visa in Nigeria with new I-20 from a four years program school?
why will she go back to nigeria after USCIS has granted her a change of status, once they grant it, she must start classes with the school on file ASAP, if she dares go back to Nigeria, she will have problem at the POE, only the school on file can give her a letter to travel, that is she must be in that school for spring. what i am saying is that, if she get USCIS approval, she should sit her ass in USA

there is nothing wrong with a community college. in short people here prefer to go to the community for 2 years and transfer to the university. since USCIS has not given her a response and spring starts in less than a month, if by january USCIS do not give her a valid response, she should come back to Nigeria but if she gets a reply before january, she can not ditch the community college because it was the school name that is on her USCIS data, so she must spend at least one semester in that school before she can transfer
hayour00:
Hello everyone,

I humbly request y'all to suggest the best way to go about this situation. My sister came to US with a visiting visa over the summer and while she was here, she applied to a community college with her visiting visa and she was offered admission for spring semester but it was stated on her I-20 that her status has to be changed(to F-1). She proceeded by applying for change of her status but haven't been notified about the decision yet for over three weeks and her school resumes in less than three weeks. While she awaits the decision, we contemplated and decided it's best for her to write SAT instead of spending two years in community college and then go through the stress of transferring to a four years program. So, she has been preparing for SAT and she's going to take the exam next year January and apply for four years program for summer or fall session. Now, my question is...Is it possible for her to ignore the community college offer and not attend the school in January even though she applied for her change of status using the school? Her visiting visa expires in January and I'm suggesting it's best for her to write the SAT exam here and then go back to Nigeria in January and then apply for degree program using her SAT result and other documents and then apply for F-1 visa from Nigeria and come back in summer or fall to start the degree program. Or incase the immigration changes her status from visiting to student, can she still stay in the US and apply for degree program for summer/fall while she ditches the community college that gave her admission and used to change her status. I am more particular about her status in the country because i wouldn't want her to be an illegal immigrant and mess up her chances. House please suggest which way to go about this. thank you

Note: she doesnt want to go to the community college and i think it's also a waste of time for her and resources when she can enter for a four years degree program.
