hbrednic:People have made great loot in loss making stocks like ikejahotel, champion, costain, and dangflour. There are other forces that make people money on the nse besides profitability. |
Aloaye:Loading opportunity for people with funds. |
Aloaye:Hmmn... my brother, rescueing the stock market may not be the immediate headache of the govt. The prayer is for bargain hunters to quickly chase away the bears and conjure the bulls while the new govt takes all the time it wants to get it's act going. |
Born2berich:Remember, vono will need to be re-countering vitafoam's counter rally. Plus, it is a pennier stock, with half the OS of vita. I boarded vono last week because I figured it will take two steps for every one vitafoam step. |
megainvest:I posted sometime ago (can't dig out the post now) that the market would be more bullish with continuity than with the unknowns and uncertainties of change. Purely my expectation of the market under the circumstances and not a comment on the personal qualities of any of the then candidates. Also, the celebration and euphoria of mere change dissipated over the long weekend. |
angelo82:Then why do you believe that vono and vitafoam are playing catch up and counter catch up with each other?. Please nobody is calling stocks living things o. It is speculators looking at the numbers and sentiments around that are bidding them accordingly. |
passwelle:You are right, but they are too smart to conduct share sale at sub 3. The announcement says Q3 which means anytime from July to Sept. And to pump the stock price for the exercise I promised you that Q2 result would come from outer space. Barring a general market meltdown, it might be done at around 5. Skye management does not like outlandish shares volume. But all that said, I don't go native on any stock. We know how to somersault out of any bus at the slightest sign of bad driving. |
Sorry about my reply to manie above. I replied to the wrong post. Thought I clicked on passwelle's link on skye bank's planned money raising. My mind is full of skye bank these days. ![]() |
manie:Q3 thing. Anytime from July, which means Q2 result will come from another planet, to pump the stock for the exercise. And we are looking for a tasere N30b which means dilution will be minimal. I trust skye management, ever determined to keep outstanding shares concise. |
saibuhari:That means vono itself will continue racing to be cancelling what vitafoam is countering (chai, see turenchi wey we dey blow here for money). Interesting calculation, because I considered the two and chose to board vono today, but still wondering, even now, if I had thrown money into the canal. |
Born2berich:And I submit that their overall Oga is Fbnh since the days of Soludo consolidation. Of course it's the mentality of traders. A few weeks ago, when Uba blasted off like a rocket, a BiTL asked me where I thought it could reach. I told him I was waiting for fbnh Q1 result, which was yet to be released at that time, even though I had not a single fbnh unit. This was because I new the Uba rally would soon be truncated if the two seniors the market had placed in front of it did not shift forward. Believe me, if fbnh Q1 performance had been strong enough to boost the stock to 15, the entire market story would have been different by now. All stocks in the banking sector, below and above fbnh would have adjusted forward correspondingly. Note the entire market is beholden, sensitive and responsive to what is happening in the banking sector. That is where bulls and bears start and spreads out over the market. But there is a higher law underlying this queueing system. It is the law of EPS. This seniority ranking is based strictly on EPS/PE. Therefore the "lordship" of access and fbnh over UBA in unit price can be broken, and the queueing system overruled if UBA surpasses them in EPS. So Uba can jump over access and even fbnh only on the wings of a much stronger EPS. |
mercylicious:That is why nsempa is highly entertaining and addictive. We are relaxed here and in good, cheerful spirits most times, communicating our messages moving from Qeen's English, to Nigerian English alias pidgin, and back to Wole Soyinka's Grammar as the spirit leads us. |
jauntty:Hope they appoint a successor that will excite the market. The laggardness of the fbnh stock has single handedly depressed the banking sector, and by extention the entire market for a long time. |
Agbalowomeri:Abeg leave the skye for us. Kolanut lasts long in the mouth of those who value it Skye does not even have that many shares to go round. Pending the inevitable money raising and dilution, of course. |

Agbalowomeri:You want me to talk down the bus wey dey carry me to my promised land? Na wetin I see I talk. |
It is the new kid on the tier 1 block. It is a Systemically Important Bank, which means specially protected class. It has among the most concise OS in the sector, and stronger Q1 eps than diamond. It is still cheaper than even fidelity when you check their ranking by capitalization. It has a smart Board and Management. They used Mainstreet's money to buy Mainstreet. I am in skyebus until it overtakes diamond. Please consult an investment expert. |
Agbalowomeri:Hahaha.... Nsempa no go kee pesin with laff. |
myjoy08:I'm surprised that market-wise folks are yet to understand that bank stocks march in a queue that is very difficult to violate. Uba would have been long past 7 by right of it's strong Q1 performance but for the two laggards, access and fbnh, in it's pathway. Maybe one day, perharps after performance trend is maintained in Q2 result, uba may muster the courage to jump over access in price. But for now, just watch it backtrack each time the price gap starts closing. |
Agbalowomeri:i dey the bus for long distance, unless i see danger for road. |
Wether those men in black look the way of skye or not, it will be my vehicle towards the q2 results season. I used to call uba the baby stock of the tier 1 banks, but now, skye(+mainstreet) has become the "babiest". I started buying at 2.07 and, as The Lord liveth, and barring unknown development, will remain on board until it is selling above diamond. |
mercylicious:When that bear comes you will be scared to enter market, and start waiting for another bull. Analysis paralysis. |
Agbalowomeri:No single offer for now. Wonders of the NSE. |
talk2me2:But this news is one month old na. We don price am in tey tey. Abi you wan pump your own for dumping? ![]() |

So, regarding skye, is the ongoing dumping escape from a sinking ship or transfer of wealth by the panicky? |
davide470:You dey learn monkey dealing? |
mercylicious:I expect it in intenegins. No recommendation. |
jideflash:God will provide for you, oando/skye or not. |
Who boards unitybus beware, and pray... Unitybus remains a very risky play. There is talk of further recapitalization, There4 dilution and, future reconstruction? |
Dumexoga:Abi na you Ucheson de work for? |
