Like I said before, what sort of human takes a loan with a clear intention not to pay back? What sort of human takes a loan he doesn't intend to payback, and then is angry because the asset he acquired with the loan can be repossessed by the lender? What sort of toxic beggar does that?

If we cant payback, then the Chinese should take over the damn railways; it wouldn't stop ordinary Nigerians from still making use of and enjoying the trains. In fact, the trains would even be managed better in control of the Chinese than what we have currently, so why exactly should I lose sleep over this?

Nigeria currently owes China less than $5bn, is that an amount we cant pay back in 20 years? Why's there so much focus on the CHinese loans and no noise about other foreign loans which run into several tens of billions of dollars? What's really the noise about sovereignty and even the repeated use of the phrase 'Chinese Slavery'? You see how you've been caught by sensationalism?

So if China operates a rail it built in Nigeria with its own money, that automatically amounts to Nigerians being slaves to China? THat's what you want me to be worried about right?... When an outsider hears the sensational use of the words 'sovereignty' and 'slavery', one would even think the Chinese would be taking over Aso Rock.

How exactly does that article invalidate what I said earlier? The question I asked earlier was, "how much do you think Nigeria currently owes China?" Nigeria currently owes China less than $5billion, and Nigeria's got over 20 years to pay that off. Is that amount really worthy of the noise and paranoia being spread around about sovereignty?

On the flipside, why should anyone in their right mind even take a loan with an intention not to payback? If the Nigerian govt is stupid enough not to payback, then the Chinese should bloody take over the assets. If there's anything I know too well, the new railways and remodelled airports would certainly be managed better and would be more beneficial to ordinary Nigerians if they're run by the Chinese.

The truth is some of us has a larger capacity brainpower to analyse issues of national interest without fair or favour.

The questions are:

Does the article sounds like a hoax

Does the bizarre "sovereignty clause" included in writing and signed off by the representatives of Nigeria government

What happens if we failed to pay back as agreed

Does the Chinese reserves the legal right to seek injunction in international court for the ratification of such clause in the event of our inability to pay up as agreed

What's the desperation all about

Is there any possibility of the project becoming abandoned or failed by greed of men or force majeure

Why should a learned person saddled with responsibility of making choices for people signed these kind of contract and claimed he never aware of such clause in the said contract papers

Are there alternatives for Nigerians to boycott the usage of the said train if they felt the fares are unbearable for their personal income level ........... which is already the case in those areas where it is being test run and also ticket racketeering activities are prevalent.

Nigeria government does not have financial integrity and will shamelessly beg for debt relief rather than paying up their debt.

For the records: Chinese loan is just one out of numerous loans Nigeria is servicing on monthly/annual basis... Which means the principal is intact while, the attendant interest in milking our economy dry on regular basis. How long do you think it will take to be out of these vicious circle

The US was and its still supporting the current administration. No way are they sponsoring or encouraging the current Taliban offensive as that will be against their motives since 20 years ago. Can you imagine how the Taliban have captured more that 20 provincial capitals out of the 34 within 10days. they collected the second largest on Saturday.. They are advancing to Kabul.

After all the training and air support given to the Afghan military by US, they couldn't fight the Taliban for that long on their own.

Just few days. during the fight in jalalabad. most of the soldiers fled to neighboring Uzbekistan..

Kabul is down already... Taliban has now captured all the Afghanistan boarder cities without any opposition from the government forces..... An intelligent person should be smelling rat by now.

Like they did between 1996-2001. Al-Queeda is the terrorist organization while Taliban is funding them against the state when it became obvious to them that they can't return to power through ballots.

Now, they've brokered peace truce with America. America planted the outgoing government in place in Afghanistan and when America is quitting the war, her imposed government too must leave the throne.

America cannot appear to the rest of the world that they negotiate with terrorists backed Taliban so, they have to stage a walk-out from Afghanistan and Talibans take over through a cheap war so as to allow Taliban to achieve their age long dying wish ... (Economic power of the state)

Remember, there's no political structure on ground that American government in Afghanistan can relinquish power to. The only viable that can take over is the Taliban..... Everything is political solutions to the problem.

America has realized not everything military can solve

It was all a political solution to age long Afghan war. It has been settled before Bidden administration by former president Donald Trump. The more Bidden said he has no choice but to follow through.

The agreement is for US to withdraw her soldiers and Taliban will make a swit snatch of the government while the government will surrender the cities in quick succession with less blood shed.
It was a great plan and well executed in less than 2weeks.
