I just re-created the discussion board for the FORUM CITIZENS main website. The main site is http://forumcitizens.com The discussion site is http://forumcitizens.com/discussions I'm looking to embed the discussion board, http://forumcitizens.com/discussions to a page on the main site at http://forumcitizens.com in the near future. Hopefully, i can find a way to achieve that without much stress. Anybody with a suggestion, Btw, it is a phpbb forum. The board is solely meant for relaxing conversations like forum games, jokes, romance/sex chat, brain teasers e.t.c, NOT serious discussions like Politics, Entertainment, Sports, Health e.t.c (which the main site - http://forumcitizens.com will serve). I need about 3 serious administrators for the discussion board, as i can't handle the main site and the discussion board at the same time. Contact: admin@forumcitizens.com (include your phone number, Yahoo chat or Gtalk details). |
An Interview some reporters had with the U.S embassy Chief Consul in Abuja. Read here: http://forumcitizens.com/featured/interview-about-u-s-visas-with-the-us-embassy-chief-consul-in-abuja/ |
Poor Taiwo. A player can't play beyond 2 things - his age or capability. |

classy013:Though they will tell you that they can't guarantee visa approval but YEAH, THEY INCREASE ONE's CHANCES, unless you bleep things up yourself during your interview. BTW, You have to (really sharpen up), by indirectly telling the officials that is the main reason why you have come to them, so they will know what help you need. |
What is the big deal about his coming back from a medical trip? If he came back dead or with an amputated leg, then it should be a big deal. |
ludab:Seriously, I don't know about the chances. I just posted the little I know and hopefully it will help people. The decision to approve or refuse visas lie 'solely' with the consulate officer, Not even a senator in the United States ( They have so much power in that cubicle ). GboyegaD:Yeah, you are right. Going prepared is necessary but doesn't matter as much as 'favour' like you first mentioned. It is surprising how the US embassy does not even verify your account statement like the UK, and they still approve visas. Sometimes they don't even check ANY of your documents except your passport and I-20. Some people will carry so many valid documents and they won't even be asked to present it and they will still deny the applicant. I have seen with my two eyes how someone was asked just one question at the US embassy. 1. Why did you choose your school , and the consulate officer was telling her that his cousin also attends that school in Alabama, etc, and that she should come for her visa on a specified day. The gal also probably knows her way'. It is favour/luck, anyhow you want to call it. |
rowlandoo:The USIS can be found at #1 Broad Street, Lagos. I didn't say students won't be issued visas if they are older than 21 or so, and want to go for their undergraduate studies. I only said the USIS mostly consider students of that age range who want to go to the US for undergraduate studies, before they can register as 'their student'. I think it is only a precaution to avoid illegal people from using the student route to enter the U.S. Other things, are that they will want to see your parents, know their assets, see account statements, know you better, Blah, blah, blahh Mind you, the USIS is simply an affiliate and educational section of the US embassy. Most rich people send their kids to the USIS before they appear at the embassy for their interview. |
I personally know not less than 8 people who went to the U.S embassy for visa (for undergraduate studies) and they were ALL denied. Mind you, they went at different times - not the same year and not together. All of them always telling the same story after their interview, that everybody before and after them was denied, Some people crying (shame), Blah, blah, These people went on with their normal life, applied to a Nigerian university, finished up their undergraduate programs at their respective schools and re-applied for the U.S student visa (for masters program) after having completed their bachelor degree in Nigeria. They ALL got the student visa - 4years or thereabout after the initial refusal. These are just about 8 people I personally know, Not heresay. Funny thing is, they are still in the United States. None came back. |
solo4deji:You should have tried to read my post thoroughly and in-between lines to understand it, before you made that comment. |
It is known fact that it is easier getting a U.S student visa if you want to go for your Masters Degree - 1 to 2 years program. Getting a visa via the Undergraduate degree route is nearly impossible, trust me. I have always advised people to go through the USIS (official), if they want to considerably increase their chances of been approved for a student visa. It is certain you'll be approved when they file your visa application for you. Thing is, there are rules and hurdles to the USIS accepting students (into their program). One of the difficult "rule" is that any student going for an undergraduate program must not be older than 20-21, while for the graduate studies is max age of 25-26 i think. And about success stories, it is not about how effectively you answer question (though it is part of it), you can even speak good grammer with phonetics, give great answers to questions, make a whole lot of sense, and still be denied. It is simply sheer luck. |

Which ever way, the ultimate is inevitable and just an accident waiting to happen. Fuel subsidy removal or left Intact, Nigeria is crashing. |

Nigeria is out for good, imho. There are limits to prophecies. |
Why make life hard for yourself and mess things up. Creativity or No Creativity, Simplicity is Key. Propose to her in simple english, in a quiet place. Writing poetry or trying to be creative about what to say or do, especially if she knows you are not the poetic or very creative type can make her have a re-think about you. 1 word - #JustBeYourself. |
Obasanjo put them there in the first place by making the notherners heads of key positions in the nation's parastatals. And now, he seem poised to remove them. So, let it be, So, help him God. |

They are not just one group. Different groups under one public name (Boko Haram) - Heavily sponsored to carry out attacks. |
It is better to be an alsatian dog in the city, than a lion in the forest. |
There is no use staying here, cos this country has issues. If Nigeria is not split up into different countries, i can't see any real development. |
This shows the economy has improved significantly under a 'good luck' administration (Irony). |
Karma!!!! I hope obinna, chukwudi and emeka will learn from this. |
