I didn't notice it in the past. It is something I noticed from Pep Guardiola. What I know we had in the past were Sweeper defenders who were creative and also good with dictating play with passes like midfielders. A person that was so good at that was Matthias Sammer in his later days.

Football in the past was rigid when it came to positioning. You will not find Roberto Carlos or Cafu living their roles to go to the midfield to control games. Nor Celestine or Mobi.

Poor knowledge of tactics failed him. The argument that he didn't have time to get used to the team is a bad one since he served as an assistant coach on this same team during the AFCON, watching them at close range. Any coach worth his salt would have transited seamlessly into the head coach role.

there's no justification in employing finidi as Head coach, none nff almost did same with Musa Abdullahi, considering hiring because he was assistant to the previous coach.

As a newly employed coach with just a window before the next world cup qualifiers you go around inviting new players to do what, someone that has been around the team. He should have access the weak areas in the team and get one or two players to boost such areas. Try them in the friendly.

I wanted Finidi for the job when it became obvious NFF wanted a local coach, but was disappointed that NFF didn’t do any interview even after throwing the job open to the public. I’m sure if they had interviewed all interested candidates there’s no way they’d have picked Mr Finidi

Finidi has nothing upstairs when it comes to coaching. You can see he has no confidence. A lot of times he look lost. Any sincere and sensible observer can see that

i said it here that I rate finidi base on his team in enyimba. Yes enyimba won the super 6 after coming 5th or 6th in the league. But I watch the team and it seems they was not impact from a grounded coach on the team. The name enyimba was the factor.

Finidi approach to the team have not been the best. At a point everyone thought Amunike was getting the job, then from nowhere the nff went back to finidi with the excuse that he has been around the team for a while.
