typicalgamer: You’re telling me the CAM position has become obsolete ok sir
i still don't get it when people come up with there's no 10, 7 or 9 in modern football. Maybe we should move it a step, there's is no 1 in modern since goalkeepers are now expected to be ball players.
Subzerooo: Oga the argument was between Nottingham and Roma and going by your pedigree argument Nottingham has won two champions league to Roma's nil but that's not the point, the point has been debated above
that makes them better than mancity with one champions league and arsenal nil. Shey that line of argument make sense for ear
Subzerooo: Una still dey look Italy like the 1990s players are rejecting Juventus and Inter to play in Aston Villa, Philogene rejected Barca to play in Aston Villa, Epl is where the attention of the world is and a career savvy player would like to play there
And you will reject Atalanta to play for Bradford 🤦♂️
Starboytwo: Do you know how many people in the world watch a Chelsea match??
And that was the reason I wanted Osimhen in the Epl...
Who go sit down watch Atalanta vs Cómo.
Even Juve, who dey watch them??
You are saying something different, we are looking at Bradford and Atalanta, nobody made mention of Chelsea. Bring goalposts back to where you meet am 😂
Subzerooo: Will I call you Europa conference league worshipper
where in my post did I mentioned europa abi conference. It baffles me looking at both clubs pedigree that a fan will advise a player to choose Bradford ahead of Atalanta current europa Cup champions 🤦♂️
Subzerooo: Leicester got relegated, Nottingham did not apples and Oranges, and yes I would prefer Lookman to perform in a mid table team like Brentford than Atalanta
uhmmm 😳. Some talk dy weak me. This one na EPL worshiper.
charlesemeka85: i will pick Nwabali ahead of Maduka but we all shouldn’t be carried away by the number of clean sheets Nwabali had in the afcon/since his debut for the super eagles because the team had the best Defensive unit at the last afcon
Nwabali didn’t face much danger in goal expect the PK shoutout against SA and the finals against CIV which the team lost due to Fatigue
I love Nwabali’s composure but I still believe he is yet to be tested in the colors of the national team
WCQ Nigeria vs Ghana, our defence was good but we conceded because of bad goalkeeper error. Nigeria vs Tunisia, another good defence but we lost from a weak shoot from 20yards. Do you want our defender to allow our opponents chance to shoot so you will be satisfied that Nwabali have been tested
Danielnino00: As at now, is George Ilenikhena that people are advocating for better than the forwards we have presently? I don't think so.. maybe Iheanacho and Awoniyi.. But why are we advocating for him? Is it not for the future?
Mind you, in 2017, barely anyone paid attention to Eze.... Me included... It was after the 2018 world cup that it was clear we needed midfield reinforcement... Mikel retired in 2019, yet Rohr didn't seem it fit to call up Eze
now you're saying something I understand, after Mikel retired that's when the whole midfield issue started.
Danielnino00: Talking about Eze, please put the blame on Rohr and not the NFF... At least NFF played their part by inviting Eze and Aina to the team training camp in London in 2017.... But Rohr, for reasons best known to him refused to call him up.. instead he was calling up Mikel, Ndidi, Etebo and Ogu as our midfield options for the better part of his tenure...
As at 2017 was Eze better than the aforementioned players. Or Mikel should have been dropped for Eze 🙄
Truidstarr: Na this kind thinking make us a country we dey where we dey. We continue to justify what is not right by comparing or blaming those who came before. A player that has not even started a game for his club ( or even made the bench) is been justified. I wish Una the best. Like I said earlier it's Libya so no worries. 3 years from now Ihefu FC go dey where e dey no improvement.
The same people will scatter this place if nwakali is invited. But they are OK with a 3rd division bench warmer.
Amedino99: rohr called up a player from Hungary, called up okoye from div 4 Germany. I promise you the comparison is not ridiculous at all
You know we had a goalkeeping issue then, Nigeria was in desperate search for a goalkeeper after ikeme left even many still criticise Rohr for that decision. but in this case we don't have shortage of defenders.
Odunayaw: Who is the fellow first before we start considering if he knows any NFF executive member
You don't need to know the fellow, inviting a player from Tanzania league, then 3rd division can never go down well for any right thinking fan of SE. They is something behind such invitation, not like he progress from u20 or u17
Kog45: Oh you forgot to mention Uche Agbo and Mikel Agu under Rohr….when the same Eguavoen invited Nwakali for Afcon 2022 did you see them complaining but Taminu and Alhassan are the issue now, even telling us is due to northern influenced, meaning Iheanacho and Awoniyi in the team due to Igbo and Yoruba influenced….I tire o
Bro saying Alhassan is northern influenced na rubbish talk, same as trying to compare iheanacho, Awoniyi to Alhassan or Taminu situation. Especially nacho with one of the best scoring rate for eagles, one time star boy of the team. Yes oh, he has lost form but no be to compare him to a 3rd division player.
charlesemeka85: this our national team handlers no get shame?
For Christ sake wetin English 3rd tier player dey do for super eagles team sheet in 2024 where players scatter everywhere? 😳
Like even the excuse that he has been with the team, I don't buy it. He was invited after the Afcon. You can even sell Nacho invitation with that line and it will sell better.
yinkeys: The story with kylian Mbappe’s father approached Cameroun FA before he turned 18 They requested for money lol Things like this happen in West Africa Behind the scenes
You mentioned just one incident in cameroun which can not be verified. And then you conclude with the bolded. So firstly why do you think it's okk to use one incident to draw your conclusion. Secondly what's is the relationship between Cameroun and West Africa, why not central Africa which I think they belong.
TheGoodJoe: Actually, I was over impressed with Kompany today. Get this today, I am more interested in how well a team plays over who won. I believe with time, the better playing side succeeds more.
Kompany has shown he is up there when it comes to coaching talent. Do dominate Xabi Alonso last weekend, a coach I rate highly and dominate Emery today. He deserves respect.
The stars below shows this.
Bro Bayern lost to Aston villa, not arsenal or Chelsea and you are talking about dominate. Even without coach was bayern not expected to dominate the game. Either with kompany or not with time bayern will always succeed more than Aston villa.
I just want to talk about what thrilled me about Soalnke's goal last week. He scored from a follow up from a corner kick.
What I found exciting was the intelligence which I have praised him a lot for over the years was still adapted to how he approached a corner kick.
When it was time for the corner kick, most people will go battling for suitable positions to get to the ball after the cross kick.
However, Solanke stood away from the crowded area and waited. After the ball was crossed, he watched for the first contact which was fortunately from a teammate, then he pounced on the ball, slotting it in.
I hope to see other goal scoring players adopt this kind of approach and Solanke is certainly a player I will be watching a lot for the rest of the season.
some of this things we call intelligence 🤦♂️ you might choose to stay away from the crowd, use the same 'intelligence' throughout a season, you would get 2 or 3 opportunities to score from such.
Starboytwo: Let talk about Tammy Abraham for a minute. At all at all, he is Nigerian.
Why has the guy regressed so much. Goals he no dey score, assist, he no dey do?
Wetin com be him work as a player??
To think at one time it was a Tammy vs Osimhen on here.
One is a quintessential no 9 with 5 Goals involvement in 3 games(2 goals 3 assist) + 2 separate goals that was classed as an own goal... In reality, Osimhen should be 4 goals 3 assist...
Our English brother, T. Abraham, although a No 9 himself, but clearly not quintessential enough in his duties. 0 goals and 0 assist so far in over a year is not encouraging.
We hope he buckle up and do something. Las Las, our own is our own.
Our own is our own(Lookman) , England's own is Englands own (Tammy) 😉
Sugarboyy: I really don't know about others but to me, he is not upto average. He is just a flash in a pan most times and afterwards, he goes ghost mode for more than 10 matches. He should be ashamed that Ademola who just started playing for the GWG is doing better than him and might become the next African Best
Bro nothing to be ashamed of, when lookman scored his first EPL goal for Everton, Samuel was still playing street soccer.
i actually watch this match live on TV and at that time I was still trying to get why the hype around this Mikel. But years later when I rewatch this match and the confederations Cup, I was blown away with his talent. No speed but he breeze pass players faster than him. See key passes that the others couldn't convert.
teeshet: If I knock your head. Mikel does not have one percent of both talents. He was just a peripheral ball passer and was lucky to play for chelsea. He didn't do anything spectacular
Abeg no knock my head, that's my opinion. But saying he was lucky to play for chelsea when we all know the struggle between Chelsea and Manu to sign him. Guy 🤦♂️
