Former Labour leader and present Governor of Edo
state, Adams Oshiomhole who walked down the
aisle last week Friday with his new wife, Iara
Fortez, has revealed more details about the bride. Speaking at his thanksgiving service held in Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Auchi, in Edo state yesterday, the 63-year-old governor
revealed that his wife, Iara is not a model as widely
reported in the media. “When I read newspaper stories and they say that
Comrade has married a ‘top model’ I’m like maybe
it’s another person. The lady that God has directed
to my path and heart to marry is not and was not a
model. Of course, she looks beautiful and I
understand that is why people assume that this kind of a lady must be a model but of course, she is
a model in my heart and we hope and pray that we
will be models in the heart of our God and I think
that is the most important thing,” he revealed. The governor also disclosed that despite his love
for the new wife, his heart still remains with his late
wife, Clara, adding that she will remain in his heart
till eternity. “I ask you to please continue to pray for us. It is
not easy. I lost my first wife and it is not possible to
replace her. Yes, I have married another but it is
not a replacement. You cannot replace a wife
especially one you married when you were young
and you were anonymous. Nobody knew you from anywhere, you had nothing, no car, no
house; now, that you can never replace but I
understand that under the Catholic doctrine I am
entitled to have another wife which is what I am
trying to do.”

“Thank you for your prayers, support and
blessings that you have always showered on me
and the one you conveyed this morning on me
and my new wife and we ask for more and more
prayers that this marriage will be my last and that
God will help us, to unite us and bond us together with the blood of Jesus,” he said.

no secrets on nairaland

to the point, the family living in our BQ are jehovah witness, the man actually is a widower,. Now the man was diagonsed with one of these really terrible liver abi kidney diseases sometime last year, i dunno d name, buh he had been taking drugs and keeping it in check.

We came back from church today just to hear that the man collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, i and my bro and stepmum quickly went down to d hospital, and d doctor said he needed to b operated on ASAP. U knw nigerian hospitals, they said they needed a deposit b4 they can begin, so my stepmum gave them the money they asked for.

We were now allowed to go in and see d man cos he was now awake. We told him, he will be operated on, the first question he asked was if it will involve blood.

I was like 'ah, which operation no involve blood na?' when we asked d doctor about the details of the operation, he said it would involve blood transfusion. The man refused vehemently against having a blood transfusion. Y? Cos according to him, jehovah witnesses are aganist blood transfusion.

The doctor said that there was a way the operation could be bloodless, but he said it couldnt be done around here, he instead refered us to a private specialist hospital in abuja.

The doctor warned that he wasnt sure if he would make the trip to d hospital alive, cos the more time we waste, the worse his situation.

As i type this my stepmum and has left for the airport, cos its faster to abj by air.

This incident has left me shell shocked, cos me i cant take that risk, u need to see how his kids were begging him to undergo the operation that they werent ready to be orphans, but this man still get mind and stood by his no, not caring about his kids if he dosent make it. Well i vehemently pray he does, for his kids sake.
