I don't think Beaf or anyone has ever advocated you don't question the president. There is a big difference between questioning and being insulting, partisan, tribal and trying to bring him down. You have a right to question the president and as a good citizen, you should. But coming on a public forum to insult his person and tribe is not the same thing as questioning or demanding good governance. If you look back, you would even notice this trend started from the day he won the 2011 election so it had nothing to do with his performance. It was purely hatred and the quest for power.

The moment u guys take notice of ur surroundings will be the moment of ur salvation. There is alot to learn from those little creatures around u, ants, spider, goats, lizard and even sheep that people consider to be fo.olish. They are all creative, adaptable, resourceful, industrious and caring animals that work together for the survival of their gene and species. They dont need jesus, mohammad or english language to survive. They wake up in the morning or whenever they wake up,faced with the task of staying alive,do what they got to do to fend for themselves and their offspring and in so doing they pass on their adaptable skills to their young who will inturn pass it on to the nest generation.

Just imagine the surrounding pavement where the goat picture was taken, with parked cars, bikes and people about. It looks like a quarry/landfill dumps, but in actual sense it is suppose to be a busy street or square where people go abot their daily activities. That shows the height of moral decadenc

I've always admired Pat Utomi's constructive criticisms, quite better than El Rufai, Buhari, Japheth Omojuwa, Dino Melaye and Tunde Bakare's empty rantings all in d name of opposition.
The Constitution empowers state governors and LGA chairmen to engage in developmental projects in their respective states and LGAs. They also have to source of internal revenue, instead of always waiting for manner to fall from heaven thru the Federal Govt. If everybody should play his/her part, Nigeria would be better.

Beaf: Very nice one from Pat Utomi.

I have always asked when Nigerians will learn to question their governors and LG bosses. Most people are happy, so long as awuf flows from Abuja, but no successful country is run that way. Instead, the Nigerian system of largesse from above and laziness from below is the road to ruin and perdition.

It is in the interest of every Nigerian, young and old, to know the duties and responsibilities of their LG and state govts. Your state is meant to provide the frameworks and enabling environment for local business and industry to flourish. It is your governors duty and surely not that of the FG to develop your state, provide health services, education, employment etc. These things are not for the FG to do; you cannot give a man a wife (Abuja monthly awuf) and be expected to do the deed in the darkness, because the man is inept about how babies are born.

Take a cue from the US and see how successful states have grabbed various nitches; Florida (tourism, industry, aerospace etc), Nevada (Las Vegas casino's etc), California (Hollywood, Silicon Valley - home of Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook etc... Nuff said). These states were built into the powerhouses that they are through the foresight of creative governors and county bosses who pulled the right plugs and pushed the right levers to enable their people, both financially, socially and intellectually.
...Here in Nigeria? Last I heard, our governors were engaged in a desperate search for how to get even more of the enslaving Abuja awuf per month. It is depressing. embarassed

As far as I know, these are the working governors in Nigeria:

1. Akpabio
2. Okorotcha
3. Chime
4. Amaechi
5. Sule Lamido
6. Fashola
7. Oshiomole

I think we might be adding Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa from the way things are going.

Amaechi first tenure not now

Well actually the analogy doesn't quite fit. If they are to emulate the goat then instea of waiting for the allocation to come to them they will device a means to go to the FG who is to give them(just as the goat impatiently devised to ascend to the tree) in order to hasten the process.
The most logical and wisest post of this thread.

Prof, should be have included our beloved Retardeen as well. There is apparently a reason we call him Retardeen. When a goat reasons more articulately than our President Retardeen, we are definitely a nation in deep coma.

You say the President is retarded believe me if you feel that the president is confused believe me if you are there you will be more confused. idiot. can you call your father retardeen.

The fact that the thread is about governors, but Ileke Idi managed to sneak in her pet hatreds only shows the low quality of her mind.
Others have been able to grasp the gravity of the situation, especially as Pat Utomi is recognised as a man of towering intellect and morals; a man whose words don't come cheap.

There is nothing logical about that. U tend to forget that the goat used man made machin to get to the tree branch. Something that was not readily available to nigerians 50-60 years ago, talkless of goat.

U guys are not getting it. It is about adaptation, innovation, resoucefulness and making the best of what is available. If only nigerians can be as communal, selfless and resourceful as common bees-

Delafruita:
i dont agree with you completely.the american system of federalism might not work in nigeria.you need to take into account the fact that america isnt just a country, its a union.different states joined the union at different times but for the same purpose,to repel the british.these states already existed independently before the formation of the union and based on the agreements, were to continue to exist independently.even the states that were added later either through purchase or otherwise continued in that same manner.nigeria doesnt have foundation.states didnt come together, rather states were arbitrarily formed.i support true fiscal federalism but the reality is that if we choose to implement it ,many states will go bankrupt

American federalism is what the Nigerian version was modelled against. Our constitution is based on the US equivalent which is tried, tested and hugely successful.

The reason Nigeria is failing is the contortions written into the constitution to ensure that the country remains forever under the grip of ex-generals and those they pick. The ideals in the US constitution were removed, so that instead of freedom, a govt of official patronage would flourish with Abuja as the focal point of cash disbursement; giving the President godlike status, while states were discouraged from believing in any other ability outside that of sharing awuf, gallivanting the globe, talking crap about "World Bank loans," "airconditioned bridges," hiring 900+ aides etc.

The simple truth is that ALL Nigerian states can be economically independent and developed off their own steam. All it takes is for a governor to actually strive to serve and empower his people. And it doesn't take much, because the average person is bursting with talent; from the Kano dye pits, to Bida brasses, Naraguta leather, Awka blacksmithing etc. We've got it all, its just that there are no avenues for our local talent. The people just need to be released an unleashed.

There is no reason on Gods Earth why Nigerian states cannot be like the American ones, who instead of being reliant of govt handouts, are incredible powerhouses of development. The state of Carlifornia would be the 8th richest country in the World by GDP if it was a nation; they surely don't need allocation awuf, in fact it would be an insult for such to be mentioned.
We are able bodied, so why can our states not be like the American ones?

As for our local govts, I'll leave a picture from a Jamaican rural area to show an example of what they should be doing. The last time I posted pics of people unhygienically selling meat in PH and lagos, many people became ridiculously upset (most for ethnically bigoted reasons).
