jdbabzy: I need to verify something: does anyone on here know how true it is dat each department would nominate one scholar(if they have any) per session, and that scholar gets an automatic place on the scheme; whether or not such an one performs well in the test?

Considering d number of schools and departments in Nigeria, nominating will bring about a number of scholars that will in large number exceed the 100 available slots........so I don't think so

Very well said! I totally agree with you. It behoves us to help one another to succeed together; even if we're competing. I believe its better to win collectively than lose individually.

I don't know about that for now. Hopefully someone on this thread (who partook in the maiden edition) wud fill us in on that. Hopefully!!!

From all indication, no one can predict the exam format/content...all I heard from last year candidate are the exam has questions drawn from road safety, basic verbal and QA, current affair etc. We can widen our preparation beyond these area though and let's hope it all end well.

Please let's endeavour to keep this thread alive. Nobody here is an island; and surely no one knows it all. We cud share ideas here that cud be beneficial to everyone of us. But if everybody chooses to keep mum and do his/her own thingy den it's cool.

While you are busying waiting for who to spoonfeed you, sharp guys have sent personal messages to successful/experienced scholars. Besides, there is no big deal, everything that happened last year is on this thread if you have any specific question you can raise it here. Nobody adviced the Maiden scholars on what to read, yet their performance was awesome. As it is peculiar to First class students to hoard useful information, am not surprised the thread is dull. Its after the test you will see people here asking for test scores. SMH

Okay guys....let me say all i know. Had a nice chat with a recipient who is now in imperial...actually two guys in the same class. Both chats yielded the following in common. Their test was a 1 hr test with 100 questions. No calculators allowed. The first guy mentioned that a good vocab would be beneficial. Road signs, basic current affairs. Said the quantitative had one or two questions with charts and graphs...though nothing as hard as that dragnet thingy. Said for him, the questions were fun, that he dint prepare (not advising that o). Said he suspects gre kinda questions in ours cos of the Statement of Purpose we were added to our application which was absent from theres (he's opinion). The second guy was more critical about the whole thing. Said I shud prep well...randomly. Talked about verbal logic questions like all these....ehm....if so so is so so... then so so is so so (hope u get). Then said the quantitative was very fundamental...all these common entrance quantitative aptitude...things that the thermodynamic and calculus calculations may have made kinda faint in our memory. Mentioned the road signs also. what else. Generally, both spoke with an optimistic air. I hope this helps everyone somehow. Wish u guys the best.

Most guys seem to forget places on the net they visited after the test (including me...lol). It'll help generations to come. Last year, i came across a thread on GRE exam stuffs, it changed my life, invaluable information you cant find anywhere else. So lets do same. Usually, shortly after the exam, some questions will linger in our subconcious...lets share them here. This is just the 2nd edition of the pressid so trust me....millions will benefit from every word we put up here, for years to come. I wish you guys all the best. Prep hard!! But no kee ya sef. Lool

And then...a recipient told me there was nothing on intended course....just general. So even though i dont advise completely neglecting fundamental knowledge about your intended course, i suggest (based on what i was told) to stay with aptitude measuring practise.
