This is uncalled for. How could a King be beaten? This is a bad omen. I hope something needs to be done to arrest kidnapping in Nigeria.

The Traditional Ruler of Okordia Clan in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State King Richard Seiba kidnapped ten days ago has been released.
Our Correspondent in Bayelsa State Oyins Egrenbido reports that the King was dumped at a sand bank at Amassoma in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state after he was given the beating of his life.

The Bayelsa State Police Commissioner Kingsley Omire who briefed journalists shortly after the release of the Monarch says no ransom was paid.
Omire attributed the release of the King to God saying that God set confussion among the kidnappers and tbey dumped him at a sand bank at Amassoma.
He also said tbe police deployed tracking devices from Port Harcourt to assist in the tracking of the kidnappers.

The Commissioner lauded the Bayelsa State Government for their support in securing the release of the King while calling on the public to always give vital information to the police to assist in their job.

Narrating his odeal in the hands of his kidnappers, the 72 years old Traditional Ruler of Okordia Kingdom Richard Seiba said he was flogged with branches of trees and woods and was fed with garri and coconuts throughout the duration.

He said after several confusion among the kidnappers, he was dumped in a lonely forest close to a river bank and was rescued by a local fisherman.

These people think we are silly or what,
- They kidnapped him
- Fed him G and coconut
- Flogged him
- Demanded ransom
- State government negotiated too

And just before they collected their money, "several confusion" came upon them and still allowed them to take him to where he will be safe and found and walked away. shocked shocked shocked
