Katz,

In an unrelated post, remarking on the utility of toll gate to generate revenue and relevance, I mentioned that democracy has a shadow. The shadow I meant is capitalism. Capitalism in turn has its own shadow and it is terrorism. You cannot grow and sustain a capitalist economy without some level of cold calculations and ruthlessness that defies the ethos and theos of society. Once that boundary is defined then an ideological divide exists. I shouldn't even be saying this to you because I know you enough that I believe there is nothing in this new to you........but there is need also for clarity, especially if our analysis must address the root of the problem. If Im notorious for revisiting past in my analytical approach its because I adhere strongly to the primary essence of relativity - "cause and effect". .........no root cause analysis of any event can be completed without considering chronological markers (the past, present and future).

Ghaddafi did not just wake up and declared sponsorship for the PanAm hijack. Matter of fact he also played a part in the episode of an hijacked plane that took Israeli hostages in Entebbe, Uganda. In all of these , there are interests and counter interests. The accuser is no less guilty of atrocity and terrorism than the accused. Unfortunately innocent bystanders are collaterals in the ideological wars.

We can bring this home and use the case of Ken Saro Wiwa and the Niger Delta militants to illustrate how global terrorism and global capitalism go together. There is no doubt that foreign oil corporations in the delta have terrorized the land and the people for ages. The people have a right to demand justice and if denied they have right to form a resistance movement. Why was Ken and some other members of his people hanged? It will be naive to say the corporations did not influence that outcome. So who really is a terrorist, the corporations or the people demanding fairness and protection of their land?

In 60s America, Martin Luther King and Malcom X were both declared terrorists by a system that oppressed and preyed on them. Mandela was a terrorist. Yet Bush 43, Rumsfeld, Cheney.......for all their atrocities in Iraq are not labeled terrorists..

I like where you said miltary might and political power is tied to economic muscle. I dont believe we will ever accomplish a balanced distribution of might, power and muscle around the globe. What cannot be denied is justice! For every might, power and muscle that America flexes around the world, there is an opposing response by people and societies who continue to value and uphold their ethos and theos. These responses often is an outburst that flashes into chaos and anti-Americanism. There are societies whose will and consciousness of who they are is long lost and they no longer are living their own philosophies. These societies are already alloyed and less resistant to American ideology. These are the a,b and c societies. Overthrowing their government earns kisses for the Americans. Then there is the x, y and z societies.......overthrowing their governments earns guns and bullets and RPGs for Americans. US has been in this business of democratizing the world very long and know the difference but yet keep daring and provoking sentiments. Theres only explanation for their persistence.........a global domination under one government and economy. To accomplish that they need to do away with competition.

They will not directly attack Russia or China but by acquiring control of resources in certain landmarks on the globe they can successfully weaken and eliminate competition from Russia or China and dominate on them to install a one government. They experimented with that strategy and got a successful outcome in the dissolution of USSR.

So the existence of terrorism the way it is now focused in middle East is a viable tool and resource for future expansion of American might, power and muscle. I do not believe they instigated Arab spring but I believe they reviewed the USSR war in Afghanistan and the aftermath events and identified new roles for fighters like taliban and alqaida.

Think about the Israeli - Palestinian war. If you end that war today then Israel will not be in the news so much, it will not be in our conscience and will slowly go into irrelevance. To remain relevant the war must be kept alive.

Ive talked too much, I will shut up for today.

Beautiful analysis brother, really beautiful. However the only place I disagree with you's in/on the bolded.

So they are liberated? You are entitled to your own opinion but the US knows fully well the possible repercussions.

@^^ You are correct. "He who rides on the back of the tiger must be ready to be eaten wink " The chicken has come home to roust". The four killed/dead Americans are nothing special in the eyes of a "cynical" government ever ready to expend the lives of some of her citizens for a so called "quasi-national interest" at times very grotesque and blatantly devious indeed. The problem is not Islam per se but people who somehow have steadfastly refused to be sensitive and appreciate that the world is not "monochrome" and do not wish/desire to be like the rest of the world especially the so called "West" or the chief promoter(USA) of such spurious/fancy ideology- "democracy" or so called religious tolerance of course (Western perspective/version). Majority of the world do not exactly subscribe to such fancy ideas either including Nigeria sad despite our pretences. Presently, they are sabre rattling in cahoot with "reckless" Israel(Netanyahu) over Iran. War and loss of life do not mean much to cynical power mongers/addicts. I cannot wait to see how the "Iran" event will pan out. The beauty of it all is that the Iranians(Persians) are not gullible nor weak/helpless let alone without knowhow/heart to fight back. It is definitely going to be war without borders just like al Quaeda without borders plus franchises too. Iranians are far more diffused and embedded everywhere than the war mongers care to acknowledge and highly skilled too.

Egyptian behind controversial anti muslim film arrested and released.

AGI) Los Angeles - US authorities have questioned the Egyptian Copt suspected of making a controversial film on prophet Mohammed. Just after midnight (6am in Italy), US federal authorities questioned Nakoula Besseley Nakoula, the Egyptian Copt suspected of being behind the film on the prophet Mohammed ('Innocence of Muslims') that recently sparked violent protests across the Muslim world in which a number of people were killed.

At the end of what US authorities described as a recording of voluntary statements, 55-year-old Nakoula, who denied being involved in the making of the movie in a telephone call to his Coptic Bishop, was taken back home. Investigators informed that the man was neither under arrest nor in police custody. However, he might still return to jail: not because of the movie, whose production is not a crime in itself, but because the judges could rule that he violated the terms of his probation.

Indeed, Nakoula was sentenced to 21 months in jail in 2010 for cheating $794,000 out of banks. He was also banned from using the Internet for 5 years. It's a fact, however, that Nakoula posted a 14-minute extract of the controversial movie on Youtube, using the false name Sam Bacile.

It is sad that in the whole Middle East and North Africa, christians' dire life is ignored whereas jihadists are coming to power
thanks to the help they get from the West.

You are a person!

What were you expecting? Xtians to be leaders in regions that are usually more that 90% muslims and where the national religion is Islam?

Video: CAIR Releases Yoruba Appeal on 'Innocence of Muslims' Protests

English subtitles added to re-release of Arabic anti-Islam film appeal

WASHINGTON, Sept. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today released a video appeal in Yoruba, a language spoken by more than 20 million people, to those protesting an anti-Islam film "Innocence of Muslims" in Nigeria and other parts of West Africa.

[NOTE: This is the second in a planned series of such videos to be released by CAIR. See below.*]

In the CAIR video, Imam AbduSemih Tadese of the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh tells viewers in West Africa that the U.S. government has described the film as "distasteful" for its offensive caricature of the Prophet Muhammad. (NOTE: The appeal was produced for CAIR by Take1Media of Cleveland, Ohio.)

The imam states:

"It is clear that the motive behind the film is to enrage Muslims and to display a hatred of Islam. However, Muslims need to demonstrate good behavior as our Prophet (peace be upon him) dealt harmoniously with people. I hereby appeal to our scholars to calm down the youth and encourage people to cultivate exemplary behavior as Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) teaches."

He goes on to say: "I want to remind you of the words of God in the Quran: 'Hold to forgiveness; enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.'" [The Holy Quran 7:199]

*On Saturday, CAIR released a similar video appeal in Arabic. In it, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad tells viewers in the Middle East that ordinary Americans and the U.S. government should not be blamed for the religious hatred expressed in the film.

Last week, CAIR condemned the killings of American diplomats in Libya and said that extremists must not be allowed to control the political and religious discourse worldwide.

CAIR made that statement at a news conference on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., at which representatives of CAIR and other Muslim organizations condemned both the killings of the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other diplomats in that nation and the attack on the American embassy in Egypt.

CAIR had previously called on Muslims in the Middle East to ignore the distribution of the "trashy" anti-Islam film that resulted in the attacks in Libya, Egypt and other nations throughout the Muslim world.
