First, if you are not a Muslim or simply unaware of the principles of hajj, it will do you more good to just keep quiet while the know hows do the talking. This matter goes beyond diplomatic ties. It is a religious one.

Nigerians need to start doing things right so they wont keep facing such ridicule as this. call it whatever you like, In Islam a Muslim woman is expected to travel in the company of a male relative. could be her brother, husband, son, nephew. But in Nigeria, the hajj board pairs people who never knew each other as husband and wife in order to deceive the Saudis. I never liked that practice and it shouldn't be encouraged by any Muslim. Only God knows how much immorality can ensue from such a practice.

The Nigerian government spends a lot of money sponsoring people for hajj(people who may not even pray five times a day) every year, doing less on the welfare of people who actually pay for hajj. they rent the farthest places away from haram and give one of the worst services to their citizens and then expect to get the respect of other nations?

When we start doing things right, we may then start asking to be treated right.

You are right about those going there for some immoral acts but you can't be sure all of those deported were. They are only unlucky that the rules are taken strictly when they decided to go. Nigerians should start doing things right.

Some people who dont fall in the category of people who should go for hajj are allowed, if they can pay for it or if they are 'big' people. that should stop.

ALl the distribution of hajj seats and same for jerusalem pilgrimage, thereby wasting government resources should also stop. Hajj becomes compulsory only when you have the means.

Maltreating them would be wrong. They did not commit any crime to warrant that. The Nigerian government should seriously address that.

I heard you sir,why dont you spend thesame energy in preaching peace in your region.Honestly i wouldnt be against the muslim north if they stage protest and demonstrations each time a church is bombed or when innocent civilians are killed.What pains me most is whenever there is a terrorist attack against people of southern origin,they keep quiet or rejoice secretly.Tell me,how does the cartoon in far away Denmark or the film about mohamed affect their personal lives that warrant them protesting.

Hajj is only one of the 5 Pillars of Islam. You don't have to be government sponsored to go. If you can't afford it, you don't have to go. The amount spent on these unnecessary religious pilgrimages could be used to better the lives of the ordinary Nigerian. Let those who can afford to go out of their own pocket go.

We have plenty of devils in Nigeria that need stoning why go to Saudi to stone the Devil when you are gonna come back home to find him waiting at home.
