Hello Nairalanders, This thread has been very educative. Well done to you all. I missed the December/January application period for Masters Degree. I can see that applications will open again by March 16 and close by April 6, 2016. However, I have browsed the entire studyinfo.fi website and cannot get some information needed for onward actions on my Finnish application/admission. To this end, I will need the following information: (1) Are there any English taught Masters courses application open in the March 16 to April 6, 2016 period? (2) Kindly inform me if there is a center for the entrance examination for the March 16 to April 6 Masters application in Nigeria or some other country in West Africa. Or do i have to travel to Finland just to write the entrance exam? (3) Can you please inform me of any English taught Masters courses application open in the March 16, 2016 to April 6, 2016 period that do not require an entrance examination. Thank you and best wishes to us all. Note that i have emailed several Finnish schools on this and will bring any useful reply on here as it may be of help to a fellow Nairalander. |

dmayor4u:Have not been here a long time but been following underground. Just thinks I should respond to this for reasons I don't know. There will be courses thought in English during March application definitely. International masters program are thought in English and no other language. I'm not aware of any entrance examination for masters program except undergraduate. But I could be wrong though. But the last time I checked, only language skills and BSc transcript is required. For the courses available, u need to find out by ur self because university here have different courses and sometimes they are called different names. I hope this helps! Regards to all my old dudes! As we enter Finland we come de bear our baba names abi? No lele. I de Jyvaskyla where n na put me oooooo. Lolz |

I already mailed them, they replied that they are still dealing with docs that arrived on the 27th of January, mine arrived on the 8th of February. Ahumareze: Ull need at least 400 Euro per month....I stand to be corrected... I pay 220 for rent 52 Euro bus card.....U can bike in the summer period to anywhere 150 for food and supplies For the month However when applying for Ur students permit..ull have to have 6720euro in Ur account. However concentrate on getting the admission first....then other things will follow. |

Day by day...it's getting closer to admission results day! I'm staying positive but I am slightly worried about the job opportunities available after studies. Can anyone shed light on this issue? When should we be expecting to hear back from them with regards to the interview? (some courses stated that they conduct interview for students that pass the preliminary stage) I wish everyone all the best! Xx |

Abbies: Job prospects are quite bleak at the moment as it is in other parts of Europe. Guys with strong IT and programming skills have the best opportunity of getting a job at the moment. The best bet for other guys like myself are through Master thesis positions at Companies (quite difficult to get too) and also multinationals such as Kone, Nokia, Kalmar, Metso, Neste, Vaisala, Wartsila, Microsoft etc. as they do not require working knowledge of the Finnish language. Igboro no dey smile o, even them Finns are not finding it easy. I am currently searching for summer jobs in the summer, I don apply to 10 companies and i think say i dey super proactive. I spoke with a Finnish classmate and he told me that he has applied to about 25 places, so you see say no be play play matter. |
