If the pastor suggested marrying and converting your wife or husband to RCCG it is understandable. Saying one must marry within his church is simply absurd!

I have been married for two years now...and thank God I married from my Church, and thank God I have a job. It is not compulsory that you marry from your church, but it is very advisable. A lot happen in marriage nowadays,and the rate of divorce is very high. Feeding from the same fountain[Church] helps a lot. It has a way of making partners stay committed to their marriage...But the primary focus should be that both of you are of the same faith, and you are both born again Christians attending a bible believing church.

As regards marrying without adequate source of income, I will advise that a man should have a good job or lay a foundation for a good business before getting married. You will understand when you get married. The number one cause of divorce and strains in marriage is finance. Even the bible says a man that can not provide for his own house is worse than an infidel. Guys, you may not enjoy your marriage at all if you are poor. Your children are at higher risk if you are poor and broke. What legacy do you want to live behind for them. But the caveat here is that, if the man is not rich today, you don't need to disqualify him totally. Does he have potentials? This is what you should go for. If is rich now and gets stripped of all he has, does he have the character to stand high and still be himself. Above all, I will advise all young men to please prepare very well before they get married. But if you think money is not a factor..ask your dad, your mum or any married man.

I totally agree with Pastor Adeboye. He has seen it all, he has achieved a lot, he is a grandfather, and a spiritual father. He is a true servant of God. I tap into the grace of God upon him to be able to achieve and even do more than he has done.. For those saying negative words about him.....I pity your generations...and I cry for your you and your generations.....As a son of a prophet, I know the implications of this....

We thank God you got married from your Church and its working. Some folks got married from their own church and it was total disaster. Life is not a straight line path that one solution prescribed by a single person will work for every single person in this world or church.

Finance is a critical factor but it should not be the foundation of marriage. Love is the foundation. I dont see the need for youths to focus on guys with jobs, pple get jobs and get sacked everyday in the corporate world.

Pastor Adeboye may be your mentor and spiritual father but its true that he cannot be right & perfect on every single subject.On this one, he is completely wrong. Nobody has the monopoly of knowledge!

For those saying negative words about him.....I pity your generations...and I cry for your you and your generations.....As a son of a prophet, I know the implications of this.. This is not the example laid down by Christ.

Besides, what is wrong if the man of God even said dat. If i am in luv with a reedem member, i can easily start d churh 4 marriage to commence. After which, i can take her to d churh of my choice. So, Stop talkin against A MAN OF GOD to AVOID CURSE. That's All!

I read thru d content of of the statement and it is explicit and unequavocal enough.

Permit me to to say, that A word spoken by a man of God shouldn't be quoted in isolation. You will agree with me that this statement is not completed until you know what bring about that insinuuation and the sentiment.

I beg to say that until u listen to the whole message; don't comment on this statement again. I rest my case.

Since a lady must confirm the pay cheque and bank account of a potential suitor before agreeing to a marriage proposal, what of the man? Should he too not confirm the job status or family wealth of the lady? Since the overiding interest is material, should not the guy avoid a lady who together with her family would be a burden?

From my personal experience, the happiest most successful marriages is when both partners start from zero and struggle their way up together.

RE: the job thing, just be careful.

A lazy man can marry a woman, keep his job for two months and "retire" after marriage at age 30. My advice is for women to find men with hardworking qualities and characteristics. If he's not working now, he can always get a job and remain on the job.

Blindly choosing a man because he has a job, is not the way to go.

RE: muslims - nothing wrong. But if he marries second and third wife, don't complain. His religion permits up to 4 women.
