Some days ago we posted pictures the fixing of Navy town road in Oriade LCDA by LPWC, however the drainage along that same road whose blockage leads to flooding that damages the road, is poorly managed. Days ago the drainage was cleared but left beside the road, when it rains everything that was cleared is the washed back into it making it an effort in futility.

We hereby call the attention of the relevant authorities to finish up the clearance to avoid flooding whenever it rains.

^^^You'd be forgiven for thinking sanitation was rocket science, going by the way we struggle with even the basics; clear gutter finish, and use a shovel, wheel-barrow and a rubbish compactor vehicle to clear it all.....how difficult is that ?

op: those ditches by the side of the road are not drainages, they are called gutters

Drainage drains water away, these ones store water and breed mosquitoes.
Someday our politicians and engineers will develop standards for drainage construction then we will start to see drainages being constructed that will actually drain water.

You assume that the LG councillor & chairman as well as the state assembly legislator read NL, right
Best way is get all concerned residents of the area to do a petition followed up with a visit to the councillor and legislator if no action is taken within seven days of the petition. QED.

That is Nigeria for you. The most basic of things are the most difficult to implement/achieve. In a country that more than has the capacity to get these little done, it continues to look like there's no govt in the first place. Doesnt it baffle you govt has more zeal to plant flowers everywhere than to ensure gutters are free, and numerous potholes on major roads disappear pending whenever they are ready to do full repair. Govt pays good attention to details and are very thorough with things like tax, and people-strangulating laws, but feign ignorance and will rather do a shoddy job when it comes to projects that will benefit the ordinary people. As we speak there are a good number of projects that started since 2008 by same govt, yet to be completed today. Realities on ground are usually worse than what they tell the media.
