Are names really fashions too? Names reign and then they go, there was a time Ngozi, Ijeoma, Ade, salimo, Nseobong, Uchenna, Ejiro, seun etc were on d lips of every one, they are rare now!

New names come up now and then, for the igbos names like Kamsiyochukwu,- kamsy, chiziterem-chizzy and d likes are in vogue, which names are common in ur language? And what is d meaning?

It's just a short form that would be easier to pronounce for non Igbo speaker. I wouldn't like anyone killing my traditional name by the way they pronounce it! smiley

It's of no use if your supposed Igbo name doesn't sound Igbo. We bear Igbo names to promote our language too.
