Agree with you on this, tho not all. Now Obj talks like a messiah, sent from heaven to liberate his people, a hero, brave man who should be given a chance to take us to Promised Land. I salute his core rage. One of the greatest disasters of our time.

Obasanjo Lays Foundation Stone of Private Refinery in Bayelsa

Lagos
President Olusegun Obasanjo at the weekend laid the foundation stone of the country's first privately-owned refinery, at Agge in Bayelsa.
Obasanjo, who was represented by Mr Funsho Kupolokun, his special assistant on petroleum, said that the establishment of private refineries in the country had the capacity to inject massive funds into the economy.

The president said that the setting up of the TONWEI™ refinery would end product scarcity in the immediate community and its environs, just as it would also facilitate the springing up of ancilliary industries.
According to him, "when TONWEI™ refinery becomes operational and even during the construction stage, it would generate hundreds of employment opportunities for Nigerians, including people in the local community."
Obasanjo said that in opting for the liberalisation of the oil industry, his administration intended to rid the sector of monopoly in the supply and distribution chains.
He said that the aim was to encourage private individuals and corporate bodies with the wherewithal and the technical capability to invest in the petroleum sector, so that with time the problems associated with the industry would be solved.
Against this backdrop, Obasanjo said that all the barriers hindering the entry of new investors into the oil sector were to be removed.
The president advised the promoters of the proposed refinery to spare no efforts in ensuring that it comes on stream on schedule.
Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu, who was the chairman on the occasion, described the project as a dividend of democracy, which according to him will transform the landscape of Agge.
Mantu called on the people to see the project as theirs, as it is owned by their son.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the refinery, Timi George Tongubor, said that the project would cost 1.5 billion dollars.
Bayelsa Governor, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, who represented Gov. Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, said that the project would create employment opportunities for the people.

As we speak, the refinery has been swept under the carpet

Birds of the same feather flock together..Its more of Pot calling kettle black

Your excellency President GEJ, C-in-C of the armed forces, dialogue you no do, trial of BH sponsors you no do, ODI treatment you no do! How will BH stop? Hello people, this is what OBJ seems to be saying. The buck stops somewhere and Nigerians want to feel leadership!

jmoore: Once a public office holder leaves office without a meaningful contribution to the country, such a person should shut up forever on issues affecting the nation.
Quite a good shot. Baba with all hopes placed on him, in his days, when it mattered most utterly embarrassed all with his abysmal performance, a line Mr Luck now seem to be toeing.

No sir, the war has not ended.

Our people are still being slaughtered in Nigeria on daily basis.
Also, you better start living living in present because Nigeria has failed.

As for the security problems, if your solution is the type you did at ODI and ZAKIBIAM, then your case is so pathetic.
You can't re-write history, were Chinua Achebe failed u won't succeed.Igbo's opened d door to coup d'etat in this country, first to truncate democracy in this country by overthrowing a democratically elected government. The murder of the gentle man prime minister Tafawa Balewa,Ahmadu Bello,Gen.Maimalari all muslims,Hausa/fulani and Northerner's was nothing short of ethnic cleansing. The same Northerner's that prosecuted d civil war to a conclusion were humble enough to declare no victor no vanquished, yet u come to this forum with a foul mouth to say the civil war isn't over( b careful what u wish for ). The fact is OBJ may not b perfect but he is definatly right on this one

He created which mess?...can you tell me one problem wey GEJ don solve?..abi GEJ sef dey complicate the mess...adding more mess to the already existing mess

GEJ is full of sh...it

Pls tell us how he is complicating the issue.
By refusing to level the whole of North through a military action?
By refusing to dialogue with the BH sect?
By falling back on Ex-Presidents to assist in tackling the situation?

Pls educate us with clear details of how he is complicating the matter.

The mess on ground is a fall out of Obj and other leader's inability to build a strong foundation for our well being as Nigerians. We have lived along ethnic lines since Almagamation and leaders before Jonathan did little to create a united country.

If our security architecture has been very sound, will BH ever have been able to operate easily? If our Educational system has been profound, I am sure we won't be at this stage.
IBB, OBJ and all the leaders saw the population explosion but never positioned the country to withstand it.
GEJ has his own shortcoming but he is only working to fix part of the issues and he has my backing full time.

But Baba is really behaving badly these days, OBJ spent eight years with nothing palpable to show for it, if he is not fighting Atiku, he was busy Junketing around the Globe aimlessly, he will still be the one withholding Lagos's share of the federation account in the name of 'why would they create additional 37 LCDAs, he purportedly set up EFCC to chase and intimidate his political foes while his corrupt close associates were never embarrassed, he was illegally 'The de-facto minister of petroleum for 8 years, he kicked against the rule of law like an autocratic ruler, villages were ravished militarily, there were spate of bloodshed all over the country, insecurities pervade the land (are we this forgetful?), corruption got to its peak in the history of this country under Obj, and many others too numerous to mention cool He should allow Jonathan to work for goodness sake! Haba Baba Legba go and rest now!

Re: Blame Jonathan For Nigeria’s Woes – Obasanjo by Godogwu: 5:56pm On Feb 02, 2013
I swear!, its so dumb for Obj to blame Jonathan for the case of a Terrorist group!!!. Like! It's a terrorist group for crying out loud!, whether Jonathan is the CSO of the Nation doesn't matter..... Boko Haram is terrorist group linked to Al queda, they are not kidnappers or petty thieves. Finally, I believe Obj was right with reference to Achebe's claims, even at the moment two very important and essential ministers are "ibo" women, Okonjo iweala and Allison.
Frankly, I completely kick against the separation of Nigeria, our Ethnic differences should make us an even greater country. Only a few dimwits would think seperating the country would make their lives any better.

If a former prisoner who was released from jail on goodwill and voted by all and lives on free land, an operation feed the nation basin authority land he seized from federal govt could not provide nigeria with electricity but cleared our commonwealth for personal use. Who is he to judge a man who has transformed our airports and is confronted with worse case of terrorism africa has ever seen. Gej cant be intimidated by an ugly obj, he is following democratic chain of command

Since nigerians despise the igbos so much why not let them go? Even topics that are not relevant to igbos turns to anti igbo fury. Just let them go and nigerians may find the inner peace they have been looking for.
