All Ministers Must Be PDP Members - Tukur by folahann(m): 11:20am On Mar 20, 2013
The National Chairman of the Peoples
Democratic Party ( PDP), Alhaji
Bamanga Tukur has said that
henceforth ministerial nominees who
are not card-carrying members of the
ruling party will be denied ministerial
appointments.
Tukur stated this in Bauchi yesterday
during the party’s reconciliation tour
of the Northeast geopolitical zone.
Serving ministers from the zone did
not attend the meeting, a
development that did not go down
well with the chairman.
Tukur stressed the need for unalloyed
loyalty from party members, stating
that the party remained supreme and
bigger than any individual,
irrespective of their status.
Tukur’s pronouncement was elicited by
the observation by the Deputy Senate
Minority Leader, Abdul Ningi, who
complained that non members of the
PDP were being favoured in choice
ministerial portfolios, to the detriment
of members who toiled for the party’s
electoral victory.
Ningi had observed that the apolitical
ministers so favoured do not bear any
sense of loyalty to the ruling party
while enjoying the privileges and perks
of office.
The party chairman there and then
ordered that serving ministers must
register as members of the party in
their various wards and obtain
registration cards for the purpose of
clearance for appointments.
Tukur stated: “No minister will get
cleared without the party card. You
must be a card carrying member. You
pay your dues, we know you, the
people know you, the governor knows
you and you are registered and known
in your ward.”
Among those present at the meeting
were Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi
State; Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo
of Gombe; Acting governor of Taraba
State, Garba Umar; and the Deputy
Governor of Adamawa State.

When people like Tukur speaks i begin to wonder if their brain is no longer connected to the tongue. So if we have a qualified candidate for the JOB he shouldnt be appointed simply because he is not of PDP? WHATEVER u call urself, let me tell u Nigeria belongs to about 170million people,so if u are to speak try and censor ur outburst especially now that the polity is over heated. SWINE.

Can't we all see these people are a bunch of Jokers.

Now, the president must appoint only PDP members and not people that are competent.
Who's going to get Nigeria outta this mess

And some people will still come to this forum and declare their support for PDP. I'm sorry to say this but at this juncture I think those Nigerians who are sympathetic to PDP deserve to suffer or maybe even die.

What Tukur just said is just a spec in the spectrum of backwardness, cluelessness, directionlessness, corruption and stupidity that is ravishing the PDP
Why am I not bothered? PDPs days are numbered in Aso rock

Come 2015 No to GEJ!! No to PDP!! No to cluelessness!!
YES to another party

So apolitical technocrats are no longer welcome as cabinet members in PDP controlled FG? Guess they will make do with the bunch of mediocre, less than stellar party members! PDP, a party that promotes colourless and clueless, sleazy low class crooks! Soon, all federal workers will be mandated to pick up PDP membership cards so as to justify the PDP-In- All- of -Us dictum! Army of mofos!

This is why undeserving/accidental leaders are dangerous. They take everything and everyone backward. We are only bogged down with issues like "federal character", "quota system" and other nonsense ,that promotes mediocrity beyond it's station, by the likes of Ali. Why stop there anyway? All perm secs should be PDP and all parastatal bosses and armed forces head (whether Police, army or Navy) should be PDP.

I'm with Bamanga Tukur on this one. Even those technocrats who were not politicians before joining the govt should atleast register in their respective wards as PDP members and participate PDP meetings.

There has to be some sort of balancing of roles because without the hardwork of the politicians to win elections, the so called technocrats will have no govt to run. Also without the input of technocrats after an election has been won, the govt may not perform to the extent of having a good chance in subsequent elections.

Therefore, the so called apolitical technocrats should find away to participate in partisan politics, even if in little ways. Also the politicians should not hesitate to bring into their govt any deserving technocrat, even if apolitical at the time. The politicians should also endeavour to improve and technocratise themselves.

So going by the bolded part of your rant, you should also have said that:

"Even Civil servants have to be registered as PDP members because without the hardwork of politicians to win elections, there will be no Government ministry and Parastatal to run".

Oya clap for yourself...

Now we know the ordinary citizens cause a lot of harm to the country too. These are the type of people that vote for mediocrity
