m.k.o2005: Sura 4:101: And when you travel throughout the land, there is no blame upon you for shortening the prayer, [especially] if you fear that those who disbelieve may disrupt [or attack] you. Indeed, the disbelievers are ever to you a clear enemy. (Self explanatory) For Surah 9:5, The Muslims were in no position to negotiate. The pagans were giving them the option of either leaving Islam or face death. The Muslims chose to fight them...that isn't so bad, is it? I don't think it is written anywhere that you can't fight for your life. More so during war time, you don't expect Allah to tell the Muslims to wait until they got massacred by their enemies hence, the verses you quoted above were revealed. Sura 9:39 You don't think it is in the interest of a people when some run from the battle ground while others fight for the survival of the same people. Allah doesn't like cowardice and so He encouraged Muslims to fight or be killed through other means. BOTTOMLINE: Death is inevitable, run from war or go to war, you will die....probably before those who go to war. Sura 9:81 ...is true.. Sura 22:78 ...Yes and there was a reward for that. They were at war!!! Sura 48:29 ..were the unbelievers nice to them? Sura 6:152 ...wrong quotation... Sura 61:3 ...of course, who wouldn't love those who fight in his or her cause. Sura 5:34 ...has nothing to do with renouncing Islam... Perfect your questions so that they can be addressed better. All the misquotations were discouraging. PS: God commanded the Israelites to fight also, I can remember reading where David decapitated Goliath but we hear nothing about all that. |

AbdH:From your quotes above and mine below extracted from the quran,we can see vividly that Boko Hara are Muslims who follow the teachings of the quran to the last details ! God commanding the Israelites to fight in the old testament and me bein a christian does not follow !If you say it does follow, show me where God or HIS son Jesus whom I follow as a christian instructed me to kill ?Remember am i Christian and not an Isreali ! 'Boko Harams'are Muslims who follow the teachings and commandments as enshrined in the quran. If you oppose Boko Haram it means you are not a Muslim ! My point is if ur above and my below are the commandments and instructions of allah, why say Boko hara are not Muslims ? Sura 4:101-''Regarding infidels, they are the Muslim's inveterate enemies'' Sura 9:5-''Muslims are to arrest them, besiege them and lie in ambush everywhere for them.Seieze them(unbelievers)and put them to death wherever you find them, kill them wherever you find them. Sura 4:90-''Seek out the enemies of Islam relentlesly Sura 2:193-''Fight them until Islam reign supreme Sura 2:193-''Cut off their heads and cut off the tips of their fingers Sura 8:12 Sura 9:39-''If a muslim does not go to war Allah will kill him Sura 9:81-'' the heat of war is fierce but more fierce is the heat of hell Sura 22:78-''Fight for the cause of Allah with the devotion due to him Sura 9:123-''Make war with the unbelievers who live around you Sura 48:29-''Be ruthless to unbelievers Sura 8:69-''Enjoy the good things you have gained through fighting Sura 6:152 Kill any person you wish if it be a just cause Sura 61:3 Allah love those who fight for his cause Sura 5:34 any one who fights against Allah or renounces islam in favor of another religion shall be put to death or crucified or have his hand and feet cut off alternative sides Sura-5:34 Sahih Al-Bukhari-''Whoever changes his islamic religion, kill him. Quran 9:5 Slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush. Quran 69:30-37-''Take him and fetter and expose him to hell fire Quran 8:12-'' I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips of them Quran 5:33-'' They should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol 4 P55- Know that paradise is under the shades of swords ! May God help us all to see the light some day! |

m.k.o2005:First of all, may Allah show you the light and forgive you your sins. Its gud to be knowledgeable but when the knowledge is halved, it becomes a serious issue which am afraid its your case here.I want to assure you that we Muslims do not hate non- Muslims, be they Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhist or followers of any religion or no religion. Our religions does not allow killing any innocent person regardless of his or her religion. The life of all human beings is sacrosanct according to the teachings of the Qur’an and the guidance of our blessed Prophet Muhammad -peace be upon him and upon all the Prophets and Messengers of Allah. The Qur’an says about the prohibition of murder: ﻭﻻ ﺗﻘﺘﻠﻮﺍ ﺍﻟﻨﻔﺲ ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﺣﺮﻡ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺇﻻ ﺑﺎﻟﺤﻖ ﺫﻟﻜﻢ ﻭﺻﺎﻛﻢ ﺑﻪ ﻟﻌﻠﻜﻢ ﺗﻌﻘﻠﻮﻥ “..Take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus does He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.” (al-An’am 6:151) and Allah says in the Qur’an: ﻭﻻ ﺗﻘﺘﻠﻮﺍ ﺍﻟﻨﻔﺲ ﺍﻟﺘﻲ ﺣﺮﻡ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺇﻻ ﺑﺎﻟﺤﻖ ﻭﻣﻦ ﻗﺘﻞ ﻣﻈﻠﻮﻣﺎ ﻓﻘﺪ ﺟﻌﻠﻨﺎ ﻟﻮﻟﻴﻪ ﺳﻠﻄﺎﻧﺎ ﻓﻼ ﻳﺴﺮﻑ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟﻘﺘﻞ ﺇﻧﻪ ﻛﺎﻥ ﻣﻨﺼﻮﺭﺍ “Nor take life – which Allah has made sacred – except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, We have given his heir authority (to demand Qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the law)” (al- Isra’ 17:33) According to the Qur’an, killing any person without a just cause is as big a sin as killing the whole humanity and saving the life of one person is as good deed as saving the whole humanity. (See al-Ma’idah 5:32) However, your question is valid then how come the Qur’an says: “kill them wherever you find them…”as it is mentioned in Surah al-Baqarah 2:191 and Surah al-Nisa’ 4:89. The answer is simple and that is you should read these verses in their textual and historical context. You should read the whole verse and it is better that you read few verses before and few after. Read the full text and see what is said: ﻭﻗﺎﺗﻠﻮﺍ ﻓﻲ ﺳﺒﻴﻞ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺍﻟﺬﻳﻦ ﻳﻘﺎﺗﻠﻮﻧﻜﻢ ﻭﻻ ﺗﻌﺘﺪﻭﺍ ﺇﻥ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻻ ﻳﺤﺐ ﺍﻟﻤﻌﺘﺪﻳﻦ ﻭﺍﻗﺘﻠﻮﻫﻢ ﺣﻴﺚ ﺛﻘﻔﺘﻤﻮﻫﻢ ﻭﺃﺧﺮﺟﻮﻫﻢ ﻣﻦ ﺣﻴﺚ ﺃﺧﺮﺟﻮﻛﻢ ﻭﺍﻟﻔﺘﻨﺔ ﺃﺷﺪ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻘﺘﻞ ﻭﻻ ﺗﻘﺎﺗﻠﻮﻫﻢ ﻋﻨﺪ ﺍﻟﻤﺴﺠﺪ ﺍﻟﺤﺮﺍﻡ ﺣﺘﻰ ﻳﻘﺎﺗﻠﻮﻛﻢ ﻓﻴﻪ ﻓﺈﻥ ﻗﺎﺗﻠﻮﻛﻢ ﻓﺎﻗﺘﻠﻮﻫﻢ ﻛﺬﻟﻚ ﺟﺰﺍﺀ ﺍﻟﻜﺎﻓﺮﻳﻦ ﻓﺈﻥ ﺍﻧﺘﻬﻮﺍ ﻓﺈﻥ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻏﻔﻮﺭ ﺭﺣﻴﻢ ﻭﻗﺎﺗﻠﻮﻫﻢ ﺣﺘﻰ ﻻ ﺗﻜﻮﻥ ﻓﺘﻨﺔ ﻭﻳﻜﻮﻥ ﺍﻟﺪﻳﻦ ﻟﻠﻪ ﻓﺈﻥ ﺍﻧﺘﻬﻮﺍ ﻓﻼ ﻋﺪﻭﺍﻥ ﺇﻻ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻈﺎﻟﻤﻴﻦ ﺍﻟﺸﻬﺮ ﺍﻟﺤﺮﺍﻡ ﺑﺎﻟﺸﻬﺮ ﺍﻟﺤﺮﺍﻡ ﻭﺍﻟﺤﺮﻣﺎﺕ ﻗﺼﺎﺹ ﻓﻤﻦ ﺍﻋﺘﺪﻯ ﻋﻠﻴﻜﻢ ﻓﺎﻋﺘﺪﻭﺍ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﺑﻤﺜﻞ ﻣﺎ ﺍﻋﺘﺪﻯ ﻋﻠﻴﻜﻢ ﻭﺍﺗﻘﻮﺍ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻭﺍﻋﻠﻤﻮﺍ ﺃﻥ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻣﻊ ﺍﻟﻤﺘﻘﻴﻦ “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loves not transgressors. And kill them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, kill them. Such is the reward of those who reject faith. But if they cease, Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression. The prohibited month, for the prohibited month, and so for all things prohibited, there is the law of equality. If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, transgress ye likewise against him. But fear Allah, and know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves.” (al-Baqarah 2:190-194 Allah (swt) also said : “They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): so take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (from what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks. Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (Of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (guarantees of) peace, then Allah hath opened no way for you (to war against them). Others you will find that wish to gain your confidence as well as that of their people: every time they are sent back to temptation, they succumb thereto; if they withdraw not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their hands, seize them and slay them wherever ye get them; in their case We have provided you with a clear argument against them. (Al-Nisa’ 4:89-91) Now tell me honestly, do these verses give a free permission to kill any one any where? These verses were revealed by Allah to Prophet Muhammad (Salla Allah Ta’ala Alaihi Wa Salam) at the time when Muslims were attacked by the non-Muslims of Makkah on a regular basis. They were frightening the Muslim community of Madinah. One may say using the contemporary jargon that there were constant terrorist attacks on Madinah and in this situation Muslims were given permission to fight back the “terrorist”. These verses are not a permission for “terrorism” but they are a warning against the “terrorists.” But even in these warnings you can see how much restraint and care is emphasized. It is important that we study the religious texts in their proper context. When these texts are not read in their proper textual and historical contexts they are manipulated and distorted. It is true that some Muslims manipulate these verses for their own goals. But this is not only with Islamic texts, it is also true with the texts of other religions. I can quote dozens of verses from the Bible which seem very violent, if taken out from their historical context. These Biblical texts have been used by many violent Jewish and Christian groups. Crusaders used them against Muslims and Jews. Nazis used them against Jews. Recently Serbian Christians used them against Bosnian Muslims. Zionists are using them regularly against Palestinians. Let me mention just a few verses from the Old Testament and New Testament and tell me what do you say about them: “When the LORD your God brings you into the land where you are entering to possess it, and clears away many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and stronger than you. And when the LORD your God delivers them before you and you defeat them, then you shall utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them and show no favor to them. (Deutronomy 7:1-2) “When you approach a city to fight against it, you shall offer it terms of peace. If it agrees to make peace with you and opens to you, then all the people who are found in it shall become your forced labor and shall serve you. However, if it does not make peace with you, but makes war against you, then you shall besiege it. When the LORD your God gives it into your hand, you shall strike all the men in it with the edge of the sword. Only the women and the children and the animals and all that is in the city, all its spoil, you shall take as booty for yourself; and you shall use the spoil of your enemies which the LORD your God has given you… Only in the cities of these peoples that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall not leave alive anything that breathes (Deutronomy 20:10-17) Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, sparefor yourselves. (Numbers 31:17-18) Even in the New Testament we read the following statement attributed to Jesus saying to his disciples: “I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence. (Luke 19:26-27) So you see my dear brother, you don't just pick up a text from the quran and attack the muslims with it out of context. Please learn more about a religion before you go asking google for verses of war in the quran. May Allah guide you to the right path. Ameen 1 Like |

m.k.o2005:1."When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye anything?" And they said, "Nothing" Then said he unto them, "But now, he that hath no purse, let him take it, and likewise his bag; and he that hath no SWORD, let him sell his garment and buy one!"Luke22:35-36 So if self defence is condemned according to you, why did they need swords. 2. ". . . Lord, behold, here are two SWORDS." And he said unto them, "It is enough". Luke 22:38 3 "And, behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his SWORD, and struck a servant of the high priests, and cut off his ear." (HOLY BIBLE) Matthew 26:51 Infact, you don't even know much about your religion nnot to talk of others.....if someone tries to kill you, please don't defend yourself, stand there and be struck down like an animal, if you are not dead, you can show your enemy the best part to strike to take your life.. |

udatso:I'm a christian and by HIS grace a follower of Jesus not a follower of the old testament laws.God changed everything when HE sent forth HIS only begotten son Jesus to come die for you and I ! If am to follow all those laws regarding killing as given or instructed then by God,you will not be alive to type today.Thank God for HIS son Jesus who took away those things and made it possible for me to live peacefully today even though some does not want me to exist side by side with them claiming their religion never permitted it. You quoted a scripture in the new testament lUKE 19:26-27 to back up ur claim that God still supports killing for a just cause. I tell you it's a big error ! That was only a parable. If you are a christian or one who studies the holy bible you will find out that Jesus spoke to his disciples with parables most of the time.It takes those who are spirit filled to understand the revelations in those parables. If Jesus meant we should kill anyone for any reason or even for the most genuine cause then it will mean HE contradicted HIMSELF in all over the new covenant teachings. See below what Christ means in that parable: Jesus’ parable about the nobleman who went away into a far county, and left silver pieces to ten slaves. One of them was unfaithful, and didn’t invest the money to earn more. From this unfaithful servant, the nobleman takes even the one silver piece that he has and gives it to another. Then Jesus concludes the parable with this lesson: If you don’t want me to be king over you, then come here and die in front of me. What is Jesus talking about? The answer lies just a few verses later, when we realize this parable has been a lead-in to Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem. As Jesus tops the Mount of Olives and looks down on Jerusalem, he weeps over what is to be their fate: As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace–but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.” –verses 41-44. This will be the faith of those who do not know of the salvation brought by Jesus ! This, of course, happened 40 years later in the war of 67-70 CE when the Romans overran Jerusalem. In Luke’s parable, Jesus is looking ahead to the destruction of Jerusalem and warning his listeners that if they cannot accept him as king, they will soon be slaughtered by their enemies which will not be by HIS making even though HE is aware ! From your too many quotes above, none condemned killing for a just cause. All went further to support this act of killing. Boko Haram are using the quran to support their 'just' killings. They are Muslims my friend ! God help us |

udatso:Jesus never permitted Christians to kill humans in the cause of self defense or any other time in their lives ! Acording to luke that u quoted above,Christ was teaching his disciples on how to manage their lives as they are about to be sent into the world where wild beast are bound. The sword was never and isn't for war becos Christ never preached war as in Waring against flesh and blood rather a self defense against beastly creatures.See this scripture below to explain this: Mathew 26:51-52''With that, one of Jesus’ companions reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.- Will Christ say if i go by the sword to fight humans or defend myself against humans i will still die by the sword and yet he will also want to say to me to by sword for self defense against humans or fight against humans ! I love Jesus and will advise us to follow HIM and HIS teachings. With the adherence of the teachings of God the father through Jesus,God the son, this world will be devoid of blood shed ! God bless us |

I promise you that i will not interpret wrongly by HIS grace. But just look at the quotes i gave you from the quran regarding the merciless killings of Christians and other non believers of ur religion alike by Boko Haram, you will see that this Boko Haram guys are killing JUSTLY as stipulated by ur quran. And if they kill justly, how then you say they are not Muslims wen there are instructions by allah to Boko Haram to kill justly ? May be the interpretation the Boko Haram leaders and their followers get aren't the right interpretation ! Consider it and revert please God help us |

m.k.o2005:and if you must know the story of the religion, those wars were suppose to be against the oppressors of the time, of course from other religions than Islam. The Muslims of this time indiscourse felt that there was need to fight against those who oppressed their relatives back home in Mecca, so they seeked the permission of their prophet who requested permission from his God of behalf of his people hence the wars being mentioned there mentioned. And all those verses you quoted are wrongly and sentimentally quoted, plus they are wrongly referenced. You were crude with your translations. They only add wrong to wrongs.
