The maximum you can register a domain is TEN years while minimum is ONE year. So it all depends on when you intend to launch your blog. If it is in the next two years, just pay for the two year while checking out.after buying, leave the domain like that till your are ready for your project.

having such and similar domains in your portfolio may force you to conclude that making money from domaining is not realistic. though I may sound harsh here but am just talking from experience.

It requires learning to make any good name and thus to answer you that I doubt if anybody can buy such a name. But keep trying may be you can find someone without knowledge to buy it from you. Even the Gurus are dropping names!
