- Is the MTN BB10 Midi (500MB for N1500) truly capped?

Good for daily driver at this stage.

You most likely need to get a wifi to update. You can get someone with a BB10 device to hotspot for you with their phone. If you currently browse with a modem on your PC, you can share it's data through wifi, with apps like conectify.

I'm on GLO complete monthly plan (3gb).
I'm a pretty heavy user, so it doesn't last up to a month for me. In all, it totally depends on individuals and their usage.

The update prompts for wifi if it's a large file(s) needed to download. From the much I know, that option your are looking for is not available. Its best you find a wifi/hotspot location and update your phone. Another way to do this is by tethering your phone data to PC, and download the autoloader for the particular update version, and for your specific phone, and run it via PC. Note, this method will wipe your phone during update.
