kay9: People just love garnering sympathy for women who do not give 2fuccks about them being castrated. Nonsensical I must say. |

themodernman: Sansa's case was different (it wasn't rape!) but I have to say you don't know what you are talking about; marital rape is criminalised in about 105 countries today, go to places like the US and force yourself on your wife and see if you won't be cooling your heels in prisons like Sing Sing. And yes men can and do get raped by women. Was it not early this month that the story broke that a man was raped by 3 women in South Africa? A few years ago a business man was raped to death in Benue state by 5 of his wives. These things happen. Open a fresh thread to trash this matter out so you don't derail this one. |

hertz9te: stop confusing ursef and check the definition of rape; The crime, typically committed by a man, of forcing another person to have sexual intercourse with the offender against their will.. http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/rape Ask yourself, was sansa forced against her will? Why did she willingly bend down when Ramsay told her to do so? Pls get ur emotions right and stop calling it rape. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ApexTitan: You can say the man was raped but its a misnomer in a court of law as rape is still reserved for women...no one is derailing the thread here cos its still very much related to Sansa who majority still believe was raped...we need to understand what rape is which is what I'm trying to do....in most countries in west africa there's nothing like Marital rape which is my point of view...a man being "raped" by his 5wives I repeat has no case in court as it's still reserved for women. 1 Like |

@ themodernman OK I get it now, the operative words here are "in your view". The only problem is that the courts of law in this country don't share your view. I'm with you on the Sansa not raped camp though. 1 Like |

Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by themodernman: 10:15pm On May 20, 2015 |
ApexTitan: If "in your view" is d way you insist on getting me.....you're entirely entitled to that...however what's obtainable in most courts here in West Africa is what I'm telling you and it has nothing to do with how you feel or think about it. Dazzol....where to have a good laugh is in most courts here in Nigeria on marital issues then you'll see what I'm talking about. |

Gbola5: Good luck arguing that in court. You marry a woman and she doesn't want to have sex with you, you can force her to because by law, she signed a contract (marriage) and must honor the agreement. I have argued this with a law student before. Also, she is not a victim anymore. She is doing whatever it takes to further her agenda (whatever it may be). This is one of the reasons why I say she wasn't raped. Let me clarify a bit, a wife has no legal right to starve her husband of sex for an unreasonable reason e.g am a virgin (like sansa). And also, the man must not apply extreme force else he will be charged for battering (still not rape). |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by gj22(m): 3:19am On May 22, 2015 |
Sansa is just doing whatever it takes to have her revenge or whatever. That is one of the reasons I think she wasn't raped. She knowingly walked into that herself knowing fully well what was required of her. Also, marriage is a contract and sex comes with the package. A woman cannot deny her husband sexual relations unreasonably. She has to honor the agreement. Please let us end this argument and move on. |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by LeSulk(m): 10:09am On May 22, 2015 |
Let's just agree to disagree on this Sansa rape issue. Its derailing this thread and making it boring. The more important thing to discuss is "Is Sansa in control of her game or has she returned to Sansa s01-03?" |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by Kaycee7(m): 2:35pm On May 22, 2015 |
So the man can't deny the woman sex when she wants, as well? Or does it, as usual, apply only to d woman? |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by gj22(m): 3:13pm On May 22, 2015 |
Kaycee7: It applies both ways but you being a guy knows that a man that doesn't want to have sex, cannot have sex. Well, unless he takes viagra or something but that's besides the point. |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by gj22(m): 3:17pm On May 22, 2015 |
That scene showed us what sansa has "grown" to become. It was not meant to show her as a victim but to show how she has evolved from the scared girl who's daddy was murdered in Winterfell to the strong girl who will do whatever it takes to get her way. |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by kay9(m): 3:22pm On May 22, 2015 |
gj22: And how did that argument turn out? Your statements in italics above is oozing with so much ignorance. Do yourself a favor, google "marital rape". 4 Likes |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by gj22(m): 5:34pm On May 22, 2015 |
kay9: Do yourself a favour and apply common sense. Marital rape is not a crime in nigeria (check the listed countries on the Wikipedia page). I said I argued with a law student. Obviously a Nigerian law student. Marital rape is not recognised in many countries and nigeria is one of them. There is something called conjugal rights in marriage which is a right to sex. And like I said in a previous post (probably the one you quoted but you edited it), a wife cannot deny her husband of sex for an unreasonable reason. He can force her to so far he doesn't apply extreme force in which case he will be charged with assault. |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by Gbola5(m): 6:22pm On May 22, 2015 |
Is there still argument about this ?. I think the thing that people are bothered about isnt that she was raped(or not raped however you see it) but that her losing her virginity is like a plot device. |
Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by gj22(m): 10:09pm On May 22, 2015 |
Gbola5: Jon snow's virginity, sam's sexuality were all used as plot devices. I don't hear anybody complaining about all that. People are just complaining because the show runners are deviating from the books and they don't like it. They don't like it because they won't be able to rub it in anyone's face anymore about how superior they are because they have read the books. They think George Martins way is the only good way to tell a story and that it is the holy grail so any thing added or removed from it is an abomination. 2 Likes 1 Share |
