I am saying this here cause you are like a family to me on Nairaland so I won't leave without letting you guys know.

People might feel my reason for leaving this site is very stupid but to me it is something big.

Yesterday evening I noticed my username on NL has changed I dint get any mail asking for my permission neither did the owner of this site which is seun release any statement of him doing so he just decided to change people's name without informing them which to me is unfair cause I have tried as much as possible to respect his forum I have never gone against the rules of this site and as a moderator he is suppose to hear from us concerning issues like this before taking such decisions.

Seun is always fond of doing whatever he likes on this site after doing whatever he likes then he issues a fake apology to people and relax after all we are nigerians we can only make noise for a day and everything will go back to normal the next day.

I have used Ms_steph for over 3years on NL and a lot of people on NL know me with that username.

Like I said it might be a stupid reason to others but it is something to me.

After the hacking incident we lost a important data on this thread we were on page 178 and now we are on 129.

For me I am going mute on Nairaland for a week by saturday if seun doesn't give a sincere apology or change my username I am going to deactivate my account and leave Nairaland.

I know how it feels. What he did was quite disrespectful and i don't care if anyone thinks otherwise. This action completely negated his previous post about making nairaland world class. I'm a member of world renowned forums like Crackberry and they never take big actions like this without contacting the users or getting feedback. Members make the forum and not the owner. Really pathetic to think as you said that he failed to even contact his mods before this. That to a large extent displays autocracy and lack of managerial skill. I lost appetite to make posts after the data loss and this action of his further makes me think if he actually has our interest at heart or if nairaland is just a means to an end. I wasn't affected but every member affected deserve to be tendered a formal apology.

Ms steph...i greet u, the spirit of giving is one of the best gifts someone could have,it produces continuous fruits.this abuja thread is more like your own thread,you have given alot dont let one person spoil it,cos u can never tell the number of persons that benefits from what you are doing here and blessings you get. I would have waited till you leave before I comment but am compelled to say this...two wrongs don't make a right...seun goofed no doubt...if you chose to join him fare well but life is built on the principle of indispensability because Abuja people and other nairalanders will remember you started but will appreciate those who sustained it after u abandoned it for self glory...Am a History fan and I know what am saying.

At the poster above me I complained to seun yesterday but he dint reply and as history can help you out we have a lot of sites that have come and gone if he is feeling TOO big to apologize and feels he can do anytin he likes. More sites are coming up and with time this site won't be frequently used again.

Since he said the site is too big for him why not always carry people along. He's site was dead for a week and he nevr said both on his twitter and facebook account what kind of "OGA" is that one. In private firms they have good communication system even if they are tough on people.

If I go thousands will replace me and this thread will grow bigger. I was never going to be here forever.

I am not looking for self pity I just want seun to own up for once and since he can't do it then I will leave cos his attitude will never change

I feel you. i have silently watched to see how quickly tempo will be restored in certain key threads that lost tons of pages to the hack-attack, needless to say that i was surprised that most of them are sluggish in taking off again.
Seun 's autocratic and idk nature has made him unaware of this vital info, rather, he is busy stripping people off their identities.
Nairaland has finally come a full cycle and one thing is certain, it will never remain the same again. It will either sky-rocket beyond anyone's imagination, or it will simply rest in pieces. Either outcome depends largely on Seun's attitude.

I won't lie to you Seun goofed big time but that shouldn't make you abandon your project. God has been using to be part of people's lives by way of helping them to secure jobs and they're grateful to you.
