A commitee led by Peter Obi I expect nothing less than this crap. Imagine pumping such billions into developing industrial towns like Ijebu-ode, Aba, Auchi, Suleja, Otukpo. Japan will come for lessons. |

coputa: What is mega university..what value will it add to the graduates and the economy except that it will give government cronies and contractors mega pay..this is a sign that our leaders are bereft of ideas that will turn the economy around,..what we need now is a mega vocational institutions in the six geopolitical zones...our graduates are stranded because they cannot offer anything or practice what they 've learnt in the university....can reading and writing alone create the needed opportunity for school leavers...as a growing economy such as ours we need graduates with skills and purpose.. Clueless Leaders. And when they even make their faint hearted attempts at vocational education in NYSC camps and other places, u see them talking about bead making, perfume and soap making, candle making and other nonsense. There are excellent vocational activities these guys should set up institutions for, at low or no cost, to complete the training of this present generation of youths and to equip them with skills that would help Nigeria achieve its dream of becoming an industrialised nation. |

Mega or Meagre Universities? How seriously should anyone take em? Hope they as usual wont consult with the true stakeholders to find out exactly what our University system needs most at this time? |

D phrase ''mega university'' is laughable and d recommendation coming from a woman-like gov'nor of Anambra is dismal n shameful. Wot we nid nw is a ''mega vocational centres'' and ''mega employment plans'' for our unemployed graduates. Peter Obi should make use of his head and nt his anus |

Most of u that commented here apart from the ist person are most clueless. Did u poeple read the link? The maga university simply means a university that can take up to 150000 - 200000 student at a time instead of the current 30000 for few biggest ones. Do u know that all the nigerian universities take only 20% of people that sat 4 jamb, the rest goes to ghana, uk, ukriene japan etc taken a whooping $500m anually. out of the economy. Nigeria must move forward whether nigerians understand itor not |

Don't we all get tired of hearing dis nonsense day in, day out. OAU is touted as the number 1 uni in Nigeria yet not among the first 1500 according to webometric rankings, no research, poorly equipped labs and teaching classrooms, extraneous lectures and materials. There is absolutely nothing in most Nigerian universities and yet they want to build imaginary mega Universities. The FG led by that fisherman should stop giving us reasons to call him clueless. Fix the gaddem existing universities first. |

What we need is mega job to reduce the unemployment. Anything short of that is a waste of time. |

What happend to the existing 'mini universities' the government cannot properly manage that are churning out huge armies of 'halfbaked graduates' with little or nothing to showforth after their university days? What about the welfare of staffs of the existing universities that aren't properly catered for? What about the decaying infrastrastructure? The Government should come up with better initiatives such as skill aquisition centres, job openings etc SMH for Naija 'gofernmenti' |

Upcoming Projects: Mega-Plaza (sorry already completed) Mega-Mall Mega-Cassava Bread (if you thought the size was okay, thats because you haven't tried the MEGA size yet) Mega-Man (just like the video game, All Mega-Men will possess MEGA powers) Mega-Mega-Drive (Mega drives are indeed so last decade, we are building the world first MEGA-MEGA-DRIVE, which should be available at any MEGA-Plaza, or MEGA-Mall near you.) Mega-Planes (we are inventing the first mega plane, that is able to carry an ordinary size plane inside. Some people ask us why we are building a plane just to carry another plane, and we just shake our heads at them, those killo and centi minded people would never understand our MEGA-Plans.) Mega-Mega-Plaza (Because Mega-Plaza just isn't MEGA enough.) NEW "ULTRA" projects to be announced soon, please stay tuned. 1 Like |

This is what happens if leadership is bereft of idea's- imagine, we produce one colour kind of clothes and now want to enlarge the industry to produce more one colour clothes, forgetting that the customers buy, what they are willing to wear/taste and satisfies them, Oh when would something be done about this clueless people, at the helm of affairs, even the minister of education a Professor can't even critically look at the situation and solve the challenge at hand - Oh, God why not bring your judgment, and destroy all these educated illiterates leading this country, that all cheated through school, all these cram and pass professors and doctorate holders, useless once upon a time retired civil servants, that are not in touch with solutions to these simple problems, since they never generated a kobo *how would they know* - they only collecting government salary, and stole money to enrich and empower themselves, to be nominated as ministers - GEJ - me I know you cheated through school and theirs nothing in your head but those ministers too, I even forgot *birds of the same feather, flock together* let the rubbish continue till 2015!!!! |
