blackmann: To be honest, are prisoners still being executed in Nigeria? The last time i heard someone actually being executed in the country was more than 10 years ago, when a bunch of thieves were shot at Odogbo military cantonment in Ibadan.

I miss Idiagbon,during his tenure condemned robbers were shot in their place of origin,where they had ties to the community.

It has been abolished and also in some EU countries. It's barbaric. I think Nigeria should adopt same. This an eye for an eye has been faulted. How do you punish a ra.pist? You r.ape him back? Or how do you punish a kidnapper who has no child? You kidnap him? I think life imprisonment with hard labour should be the penalty for murder.

yes i agree they deserve some punishment. But i want to know if its because it was a police officer or because it was a murder case. Because if they are to be hanged because the deseased was a police, then i think the so called judge should listen to uncountable cases where police have killed so many innocent Nigeria citizens without them being properly punished let alone hanging. At most they(police) will be transfered to another state. I hate some nigerian customs.

As for me, I've always been a proponent of the Death Penalty, in as long as life was taken using excessive, inexcusable, in defensive way, yours should go as well. Btw, Death Penalty is still LEGAL in the U.S. and it's been upheld by more that 3/4 of U.S. States, the fed and military system.
