Igbos Please Vote Wisely Come 2015 by ibrahimdoc: 1:31am On May 26, 2013
I am not an igbo but from middle-belt...I have observed closely and noticed that president Jonathan is the best thing that happened to igbos, the man has igbo interest at heart he has done alot of things for the igbos both visible and invisible ones.....I know igbos to be politically weak, but my advice to them is to rally around Jonathan come 2015, because No hausa, fulani, yoruba or anyother person that will have Igbo interest at heart the way Jonathan has it.....Except an Igbo man is coming out for presidency....A word is enough for the wise.

If you can translate this from English to Igbo I will oblige you. ' use your tongue to count your teeth'.
President Jonathan invites Igbos to sit with other ethnic groups at the table where the destiny of of Nigeria is being discussed, therefore acknowledging Igbos as EQUAL stakeholders in the Nigerian project. Previously Chuba Okadigbo complained that Igbos were systematically being marginalised by being left out in the corridor of power, and not admitted into the caucuses where power is discussed and shared. These manifested in what is generally known as the commanding height of the economy, such as NNPC, NITEL, STEEL PROJECTS, ROADS, & FEDERAL PROJECTS that inject money for circulation where these projects are sited. Thats the reason why Igbos have to migrate to other places to find work. You can see that Ngozi has paid the debts that others shared and looted, without leaving anything to show for such debts. Prof Nnaji now stepped in to provide electricity for which billions of dollars had been appropriated and shared.
Do you need more free lessons? Go to church this morning and thank God for his Loving Kindness.

For me one thing that endeared me to Jonathan was the way he Gave our leader Ikemba Chukwuemeka Ojukwu (R.I.P) a befitting National Burial. Obasanjo would have thrown his body into the River Niger.

That Azikiwe is very important. When Awolowo was claiming West for westerners, North for northerners, east for easterners, and Nigeria for grabs, Zik was building a Nigeria to be like the USA, where anyone can live anywhere, enterprise, socialise, vote and be voted for. President Jonathan is now trying to restore that great ideal and vision.

^^^Your post mirrors my thoughts to a large extent. It's a sad fact that Nigerian leaders from Gowon to OBJ have not had the interest of Ndigbo in mind; and some may have even actively worked (overtly or covertly) to marginalize us out of spite, hatred (yes, hatred), or fear of Ndigbo surpassing their own people in different spheres of national life. Hence you can now begin to understand why the South East hasn't had an international airport till now.....you understand why we've not produced a COAS till now.....you understand why environmental challenges like erosion haven't been tackled till now.......you understand why our foremost university (UNN) doesn't have the kind of infrastructure/physical structures like those in other regions till now.......you understand why our inter/intrastate roads are deathtraps and an eyesore till now......you understand why a deap sea port hasn't been built in the old eastern region till now.......you understand why a second Niger bridge hasn't been built since the late 60s till now......you understand why development of our major towns and industrial/commercial cities of Enugu/Owerri/Onitsha/Aba/Nnewi have been left to the feeble efforts of the respective state gov'ts while other major cities in other regions (like Zaria, Kaduna, Kano and Lagos) get federal recognition and assistance in many ways which helps bolster their IGR......and i could go on and on!; the only departure from the norm has been Yar'Adua.

Their are some exceptions though, as i'm sure Igbos wouldn't mind and would be comfortable with someone like Mimiko as president; he's a detribalised, fair minded and level-headed individual.

You will be living in a fools paradise if you continue to mention "north". If Igbos team up with minority ethnic groups in Nigeria then Yorubas and Hausa/Fulani alone CANNOT remove GEJ from Aso Villa. Wake up and stop deceiving yourself because the Egon man in Nasarawa, Tiv man in Benue, Berom man in Jos, Igala man in Idoma, Hausa man in Southern Kaduna, Igala man in Kogi etc will NEVER vote for Hausa/Fulani. In case you are a learner, the SS/SE/NC (except Niger state) and Ondo State belong to GEJ. If you did elementary mathematics in primary school then you will know that in terms of numbers, Yoruba/Hausas ALONE cannot remove GEJ from Aso Villa.

Any Adamu, Chukwuemeka and Bamidele can come on line to claim "I met with Mr A, B or C and he said X, Y or Z". It is the same Tiv man in Makurdi that is having endless clashes with Hausa/Fulani herdsmen. It is the same Egon man that used his Ombatse cult to kill some Hausa/Fulani herdsmen recently. It is the same minority groups in the north that said they are tired of being used and dumped by the Hausa/Fulani etc.
Stop deceiving yourself and swallow the bitter pill because come 2015 Nigerians will vote based on religion (christian/muslim) divide and ethnic/tribal sentiments and not political party. If GEJ decides to contest then there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you, Yoruba/Hausa-Fulani can do to remove him from Aso Villa.

I have always said it..logically the Yoruba do not really determine who becomes president in this country. It is on record that the Igbos have never voted for a losing candidate. The Yoruba gave their votes to Awolowo in the second republic but the Igbo voted Shagari and he won. Balewa, MKO all had majority Igbo votes:

Of course when you have the highest population in 5 indigenous states and second highest in 31 others after the indigenes, you can not be politically ignored that was exactly what Buhari refused to understand when he decided to sideline the southeast during his election campaign and yet expected to win in 2011. Add the SS and the self-actualizing Middle belt(including southern Kaduna, excluding Niger) to 5 million SE votes and Jona is on jolly ride to Aso Villa in 2015. Afterall Aregebesola's State of Osun gave Ribadu their votes..how did it pan out?. I can at least vouch for Ondo state..Jona will have that state to swell his kittybag. So the Core north and SW(excluding Ondo) alone can't stop Jonathan.

*If Buhari could marginalize the SE/SS during a mere election campaign..I don't see any reason why he will not continue with the marginalization legacies of pre-Jonathan govts in the SE and SS. He has a big mountain to climb if he really wants a large chunk of 5 millions Igbo votes in Jona's political purse. Except a more acceptable candidate is presented by APC.* shikena

your ignorance is par excellence mehn. firstly you so ignorant about the political setup of northern Nigeria. let me school you in the political setup of the north central, kwara is more than 80% Yoruba so that a lost battle for gej. cause they will be going with their other brothers. kogi is divided into three ethnic groups, the egbiras who are so Hausa in their political thoughts so forget them, okuns(Yoruba) they will also do same as other yorubas. the igalas are the only one you guys can sell the gej crap to but the ogoris among the igalas hate the southeasterns so much they won't be caught dead sharing political affiliation with you lots. then to jos, there are 52 tribes in jos the only peeps sympathetic with the gej cause are the berom(barkin-ladi, bukuru, riyom, vom the only place beroms occupies in plateau ) cause of the fight with the hausas due to political tussle and hausas dominate affairs of the place to the extent that the lingual franca even among the non hausa people is Hausa. ask yourself why the hausa ain't fighting the wases, angas, taroks, maingos and others. even generally in the state hausa control the economy take the carrot and cucumber trade for example. the hausa buy it from the berom female farmers and do the selling and transportation down south making bulk of the money from the trade. nasarraw eggon crisis is zoning of governorship seat nothing about fighting the of hausas .omabste ain't Christian they are traditionalist so how do you wanna sell the Christianity line to them. the only fight they are having is with the fulanis and it is the age long ranchers vs farmers fight happening across every region the rancheers travel through. the ngf election should give you the prelude of how gej is gonna be kick out of aso rock and say his goodbyes. plus the heavy weights he is picking fight with obj, ibb , northern governors and elites, yorubas, amechi and the masses that ain't blinded by ethnic and religious sentiment. that just want their government to be responsible in its dealings.
