To all of you calling me clueless and claiming all what not, coming on an online forum forming know-it-all and insulting your unborn generations, I say MAY IT BE WELL WITH YOU. In a couple of years I'll have no need for a Nigerian passport so go on claiming all claimables, in fact ukwuanis are core igbos including ikwerres, ikas, opobos, even the people from GEJs part of bayelsa state! Anything that boosts your freaking self esteem. Broke fellas. |

Re: Why Anioma State Should Not See The Light Of The Day by victor1464(m): 7:49am On Nov 28, 2014 |
My bro its not denial.dat is just d truth..igbo,ika,ukwuani, ar familiar people.for example d anioma people-delta state comprises of d igbos(aniocha/oshimili),the ukwuani, and ika ethnicity.dis group of people where being group by d colonial masters as western igbo because of d large igbo influence..but not all of dem accepted dat name most expecialy d ukwuani and ika people because of their different origins.althoug ther might jus be som litle similarity but dey r totaly different tribes.by d way ,it was d colonial masters dat groupd dem as one...but now evertin has bin corrected..despite d similarity btw urobo, and bini, dey still remain urobo ethnicity ..dis also applies to Ukwuani...so get confused by belivin history because som ar jus fake political propaganda.som writers ar very much bias in writings jus to achieve thier selfish aims(just like d colonial masters).let ukwuani be and let igbo be..they might belong to d same territory but dey r diffrent tribes.. |

Garrithe1st:if u want to be igbo,be igbo,if u want 2b ika be,if u want to be ukwuani be, d fact is dat u beta stop d name callin, if u cannot respect other peoples view or ethnicity because of little liguitstic similarity , then we cannot work 2geda.. Iv hv neva seen where d igala man will call d idoma man names,or where d urobo cal d isoko names,or where d bassa man cal d nupe names,or where d edo man call esan edo..even d yoruba still respect the itsekiri... U igbos dont hv respect 4 other people yet igbos r fewer than hausa and yoruba..it is because of dis arrogance dat led 2d masacre of igbo people nation wide. If u want to live in a mans land u dont call him names or claim u can chalenge his powers because it wil lead u to death |

AndreUweh: Andre,it is no obsession. 80% of Anioma say they are not Igbo, plain and simple. Even people from Asaba,Ogwashi ukwu,Okpanam,Akwukwu,Igbuzor Iselle Azagba. They don't want association with the Igbo...I have seen this with my own eyes. |

victor1464: Look,I don't care much about what you chose to call your self but don't tamper with well researched and written down history. That's where you will earn zero respect. History has it that there were bini migrants into your region but the aborigines weren't bini, these people spoke Igbo and practice the culture. Anioma is an Igbo land and that will never change because Igbo culture and influence is too strong for anybody to wipe out with little lies and revision. These people will keep speaking Igbo and practicing Igbo culture till eternity not because they are being forced but simply because they are Igbo and no amount of lies can change that. After running your mouth you will still give your children Igbo names...lol. Unless,if you are one of the decendants of bini migrants who want to keep your identity. You may think we don't know you but sorry we So,yea we know the bini people amongst Anioma. Like I said call yourself whatever but you will never succeeded in rewriting Anioma history. I have seen black Americans who deny their race!!! |

victor1464: I have been ignoring you for a while but it's time you get a reality check; The peripheral Anioma has migrants and influence from westward but it's no news Anioma is overwhelmingly an Igbo land. The people speaks Igbo dialect, practice Igbo culture with minor influences from bini groups but every single Anioma who have a baby today is giving them Igbo names....lol Ukwuani is nothing but a dialect of Igbo because I can read and understand 80% of it yet I never interacted with them. So,stop the rants and go sit down. |

let's look at Abia state There are many clans with different dialect in this state but there still claim their Igbo origin...then imagine Abia state as one south south state and Aro man claims he is not Igbo because has boundary with ibibio and they dress alike or Udumaeze (ohafia,Abam, chieze, uduma) claiming another tribe because they have boundary with another tribe well i don't care if you personally claim Igbo or not...all i care about is that we should maintain our culture without this unnecessary divisions cause by the artificial boundary called south south |
Re: Why Anioma State Should Not See The Light Of The Day by OdenigboAroli(m): 8:55am On Jun 10, 2015 |
tonychristopher: Guy,chill out. These people detest to be called Igbo,it's no news. I don't have any problem with that, however my issue with them is trying to change what WAS. Don't tell me you learn Igbo through trade just because you wanna deny it. How about the deep rooted culture and lifestyle ? Did that came through trade, too? The names of places, deities, people and basically every measure used to describe a people has Igbo written all over it . Say you don't wanna be Igbo and I will understand but don't say you were never Igbo. |
