gbanikiti: wow! Iconic address if one can afford it. Residential units will represent superb investment purchases that would pay for itself fairly quicker than anything else because of high rental yield. Superb project sha. http://businessdaynigeria.com/eko-atlantic-leads-emerging-african-cities-promising-homes-over-800000-residents Eko Atlantic leads emerging African cities promising homes for over 800,000 residents 1 Like |

Roads and bridge construction, educational development-(opon imo/ajumo mo both in osun & oyo state respectively), health care delivery and now the eko atlantic project. This are the sort of progressive news emanating from the south west recently, are the states in the south west the only ones in Nigeria? What are others doing? 11 Likes |

Hope it won't be another ghost city like dat of luanda in angola with over prized accomoodation n office spaces. By d way what of the other initiatives in Lagos,d IPP,light rail et al?. To me all these projects are just political publicity stunts. Do you know how many already existing state owned infrastructures in Lag nid attention?. I don't think those projects are mere political stunts. In fact, to me, they are vital if Lagos is to have adequate infrastructure to cater for the projected 40 million people that would be residing in the metropolis by 2020. These projects will turn Lagos into one of Africa's, and indeed the world's leading financial centres, rivalling the likes of Hong Kong and New York. 6 Likes |

Interesting stuff. These cities include Kiamba in Angola, Konzo Techno City in Kenya, Apolonia and King City in Greater Accra and Western Ghana; Tatu City in Nairobi, capital of Nairobi, La Cite du Fleuve in Kinshasa, the capital of the Republic of Congo, and Hope City also in Accra, Ghana. ^^^^^Damn! Ghana is moving at a very fast pace. They're building three new cities. That's impressive. I think Nigeria needs to take a cue from that. 2 Likes |

Nice project but they need to spare a thought for the transport needs of the 150,000 people (employees) that will daily commute to and from the City. |

You've just answered a question that has been bugging me for a while. I always wondered why the Green Line was designed to pass through Ahmadu Bello Way, rather than Ozumba Mbadiwe. |

This is one of the huge problems we have in Nigeria. We always allow ethnic and political differences hinder our development. If a project is good, we should all support it, regardless of ethnic or political differences, beccause at the end of the day we'll all benefit one way or another. By the way, this isn't an ACN or Lagos State Government project. And yes, there are projects to take care of other strata of society, from the middle class to the poor (Lagos HOMS, etc). They are under reported because they are not as spectacular as this. 6 Likes |

Pukkah: Nice project but they need to spare a thought for the transport needs of the 150,000 people (employees) that will daily commute to and from the City. Within the City itself, getting around should be relatively easy with a transport mix that would include tram-linkage (see image below). Getting to the City should not be too difficult because many lane entry and exit roads are planned. Modular links , as specific transport challenges arise, could be added to existing State rail lines as well. When you see many examples of projects like these done seamlessly throughout the world, such as how many new light rail stations and even temporary transport link were created to accommodate the huge influx of people that descended on East London for the 2012 Olympics, then you appreciate what innovation, great engineering effort and world-class technical expertise is all about. |

luvable sam: av they planned n provided for the 15million inhabitants they av already?u re planning for waec wen u av failed first school leaving certificate exams(primary skul)does dat make any sense?? Pessimism and criticism need to be sensible and logical ... not just uttered for it's sake alone. You see an article that reveals phase one of this project is is already almost sold out off-plan and 2 years before even the first building is ready and you are talking of "Ghost City"? Lagos is no different to London, New York and many other mega Cities of the world in that real Estate rules are very different to the norm because these Cities are concentration of extraordinary activities that affect so many people throughout the world. Eko Atlantic is actually fanning into what Lagos must be not what it wants to be. 7 Likes |

When i was younger, you would walk a far distance from Ahmadu Bello rd before you saw the ocean but by Tinubu's era, the ocean was already threatening to wash away the same Ahmadu Bello. This project is highly needed to prevent those surges from wiping out V.I. 2 Likes |

This project is highly needed to prevent those surges from wiping out V.I. Finally! Someone old enough to remember. There were palm trees at bar beach. You parked your car on the sand by Ahmadu Bello Way and walked some distance before you got to the shoreline. You had these sea shells and bits of the palm trees that pricked your soles if you went bare feet or wore slippers. By 1993 the sea had eaten up the beach and the shoreline was right beside Ahmadu Bello Way! A hundred years ago the shoreline was at the end of the eastern mole. What they are doing, with Eko Atlantic, is reclaiming the land and extending the shoreline back to the limits of the eastern mole, where it was a hundred years ago. Besides, there's now a seawall to prevent coastal erosion. 5 Likes |
