Una don start again abi.
Anyway my petrol finish for after half time, and na only half I watch embarassed
Anyway like I was telling some complaining goons after the 1st match that I would rather have. 1-0 win over tahiti and a 1-0 win over uruguay than have a 20-0 win over tahiti and a loss to uraguay.
Tahiti was never they real contest. It was always the uruguay match.

LAST SHOT:
We played badly and won against tahiti (people vex)
This one wey we play well and still lost against uruguay nko (una still go vex?)

dahmie2013: Please can someone help me with the implication of this loss. Thanks!

We are technically out of the Confederations cup.

We need to beat Spain with at least 1 goal margin, and Uruguay not beating Tahiti with more than 4 goals - both of which are very tall ambition.

@ Jarus, I think Oboabona was ranked low, he defended well yesterday!

2tex: We need set-piece takers for heavens sake. One of those wud hav easily been converted. An overhaul of our attackin line is also needed. Keshi shud luk into d English and Italian leagues and leave Ukraine alone.

To top it all, spain. Very heartless pple, they'll field their 1st eleven against Nigeria.

This post is funny. We will beat spain either way. Our team is world class apart for the strikers, hit like if u agree

I was disappointed last night, amidst all effort I made not to sleep off in order to catch the full glimpse of the game that ended in a heartbreak.

Honestly, Super Eagles need a sharp striker with the following skills:

1. Dribbling at high speed
2. Fast pace like Cristiano Ronaldo/Arjen Robben/Bale

And we also need to learn how to use wings like Man U and Bayern Munich. Wingers play a vital role in soccer, but unfortunately we hardly utilize our wings.

Can't Nigeria ever have strikers like: Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba or at least Fabregas pls? Is high time Keshi look for a fast paced striker with excellent dribbling skills to convert goals for us.

Enough of those passing ball front and back pls....still under the shock. Sighs

Its really surprising that in a country of over 90 million men, we cannot comfortably source for at least 3 strikers that can stand world soccer powers.

It hurts. cry

Our Super Eagles played above my expectations yesterday because I for one never gave them a chance in this tournament after seeing d squad list, with Moses nd Emenike out injured nd no adequate replecement 4 them, d duo arguably contributed to abt 50% of AFCON success. Akpala coming in as a replacement for Emenike remains d joker of d year, a striker that scored just once in d entire seasn for W. Bremen? Keshi himself obviously doesnt hav faith in d home base as much as it looks, he is just maintaining a certain policy set by him. Pls dont get me wrong, i'm not against that policy but i'm worried dat with our miss firing strikers, a clueless winger(Musa) and a midfielder that perhaps shud b a rugby player(Ogude) he still cannot find a replacement from d home base(7 of them excluding Oboabuna nd Mba) Finally with yesterday's display, this is no longer d case of going back to an empty drawing board but 1 that just needs subtraction nd addition

Dude I hope you know Osaze was not dropped from the team because he was not delivering quality football, he was dropped because of interpersonal issues esp in the dresser room and his latest feud with Keshi...
He is still one of Nigeria's most lethal attackers with a sharp eye for scoring, so dont diss him like that ok?
he is miles better than Akpala, Ujah, Musa, Ideye and Babatunde.
If he can be forgiven by Keshi and he promises to change and be of good conduct- "I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH HIM ON THE TEAM"

Off topic but have you guys noticed the recent trend of FIFA deducting points from African teams in the world cup qualifiers for fielding suspended players? I just hope our Nff does not fall ino this trap, Sudan, Togo, Ethiopia and Eritrea have all fallen. This might result in the best teams not qualifying.
Fifa should try to remind the FA of a suspension or prevent the player from entering the pitch, instead of taking 3 points out. It’s rubbish. Sometimes it can be difficult to remember a player got 2 yellow cards in 2 different matches. FIFA should prevent this from happening instead of deducting 3 points after it has already
happened.

Jarus: Again, Super Eagles’ attacking inefficiency and Uruguayan defenders’ tactical discipline saw Nigeria technically crashing out of Confederation Cup. The Eagles, who were dominated in the opening minutes of the game would later go on to give a gdecent account of themselves in the match with the South American champions.

How they played:

1, Enyeama: Although the goals were hardly his fault, the manner he concedes in almost every match for Nigeria (including against Super minnows like Tahiti, Namibia, Malawi, Kenya) calls to question his continued claim to Nigeria’s goal post. He can do better. 5/10

2, Echiejile: He could have also done better with his overlapping runs. Overlapping to initiate attack and losing final ball is not exactly the hallmark of a modern left back. If he knows he can’t do that, he should have stayed at the back jejely. Average performance. 5/10

3, Oboabona: Decent showing for an home-based against world class strikers, although not his best day. Less active than his defence partner. 5.5/10

4, Omeruo: Coming of age. A good showing against one of the strongest attack line in the world. He intercepted ball many times. He was helpless in Forlan’s goal, although I believe he could have charged the former Man U striker better. 7/10

5, Ambrose: Like his left side partner, his recovery rate when he overlaps is poor, exposing the central defenders. He did decently to assist the attack team though, especially when the wingers were fumbling. 5.5/10

6, Ogude: His raw tackles continued and almost got a card. After that, he was hardly seen. He is not able to take his chance to prove himself in the golden absence of his competitor, Onazi. 4/10

7, Ogu: Assisted Mikel in the midfield and made it possible for the Chelsea man to make daring moves forward. He later went into oblivion though. 6/10

8, Mikel: Easily Nigeria’s best player on the field. He showed his class, proved the difference between a Chelsea first team player and backwater league players. He was outstanding, commanded the midfield, despite the Uruguayans having more men in the midfield. What’s more, he scored world class goal. His lowpoint was a couple of critical indecision in the second half. 8/10

9, Oduamadi: Hacked down within first twenty minutes. Struggled as he did, he couldn’t make an impact in the game again. Unfortunately, those were the first minutes of the game the South Americans dominated the game. Prabably he could have converted, were he to be around when Nigeria began creating chances. 4/10

10, Ideye: He continues to disappoint those of us that have confidence in his ability, and prove critics right. For someone that scored 17 league goals in Ukraine this season, it was a bad outing. A golden chance he saw in the second half was also lost when he was not able to guide the ball well for the crucial turning. 3/10

11, Musa: Again, all run, no substance. His final ball remained poor. Bad crosses. Worse, he gave away ball that resulted in the second goal. 3/10

http://jarushub.com/2013/06/21/player-rating-nigeria-vs-uruguay/

Did you actually watch the match? as someone said earlier you rated players out of emotion and sentiment rather than their actual contribution. To rate Musa as a 3 is totally absurd. He was our most effective player in the first half and I agree he fizzled out in the second. Ideye was ok. He didn't set the stadium alight but he merits at least a 5

It is important that we understand the limitations of our National Team. A team where John Obi Mikel is the most influential player is a pretty average team. Yes we won the Africa Cup of Nations, but the teams were very poor. We were able to beat the only half decent team Ivory Coast and that is why we are champions.

The team's weaknesses and limitations were exposed against a very average and ageing Uruguay side. We lacked that cutting edge and maturity that comes with age and experience. The defenders are OK bordering on good but the defence can be shambolic and naive. We lack imagination in the final third and without Victor Moses and Emenike we will always struggle. Perhaps the biggest drawback of the team is the bench. Babatunde and Akpala are not national team players

However, I am very optimistic about this present crop of Super Eagles and they are destined for greatness and will come good. The caveat is that we keep the current coaching set up. Keshi is definately on the right track and is building the team organically. We do not need prima donnas like Osaze, Yakubu or even Obafemi to upset the team balance. This is a young crop of players and the official average age of the team is about 22; in real terms it is closer to 24. we can get 4 to 5 good years from these players and the fantastic thing is that apart from Enyeama and maybe Mikel, the other players have a lot of scope for improvement. So I believe the only way is up

let us keep the faith and not succumb to any knee jerk reactions
Re: Nigeria Vs Uruguay - Player Rating by Soso990240(m): 10:42am On Jun 21, 2013
My opinion.:keshi should invite kalu and ike uche, martins, emenike, osaze, moses and let go ujah, akpala, ogu and some inexperienced bench boys..defence isnt much our problem 4 nw,we just need replacement incase of injury.

Seconded. Drop Enyeama and give the skipper's band to Mikel. We've had enough of Enyeama in the goal post. He should give some other Nigerian the opportunity to showcase his talent.
Scun: That's why we should do eveything to avoid bringing back those players who gave us the name super chickens. Instead we should drop the remaining one of them, Enyeama!!

The national team is not a club side. You can't just go out and buy players. You try and get the best out of what you have

Go and watch the match againsr Guinea in Abuja where we failed to qualify for AFCON 2012 and come back to tell me about Osaze again. People have short memories. It's not a coincidence that he has just 9 goals for Nigeria. Even Mikel has 4 despite playing less than him.

To be sincere, those boys tried their best, where we have problems is striker, Keshi should please look for a formidable striker, Osaze is there, Martins is there, after all Osaze has apologise for his mistakes, see, sentiment should not be in selection of a team if we really want to make an impact, if you really study our games, you will realized that we always struggle to score a goal, all the goals that Musa missed in our first match couldn't have, had bn we have a good striker.....

Beating uruguay was Nigeria's golden chance to be at the next level in the competition. Blowing it means Nigeria has crashed out. Uruguay wasn't exceptional yesterday, nigeria just didn't utilize opportunities. GHANA or IVORY COAST would have won a match like that. With spain's form, NIGERIA can't beat them but God can
Re: Nigeria Vs Uruguay - Player Rating by DisGuy: 10:48am On Jun 21, 2013
I think it's time for the coach to actually tell MUSA what he expects from him, seems he's just allowed to run run and run, Keshi should be in control

He plays a bit like Theo Walcott in his first season.... and i dont know how about using him on the left side

there are so many players that you dont even know their records, how many games they play for their clubs
perhaps we are back to the era of naija coach looking to 'discover' unknown players just to make their cut when they make it big
