There's nothing to say. Iya Loja is appointed by the oba of Lagos and last I checked, Tinubu wasn't the oba of Lagos.

President-General, Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men

That was the woman's title. Many clowns have argued that She is Iyaoloja of Lagos state and told all kinds of fiction about "Yoruba" culture, Investiture by the Oba of Lagos and sundry other bullcrap stories.
I hope they will have the decency to admit their folly

xxyz17: The weird thing is, this is the same Tinubu that accused GEJ of being dictatorial. What a paradox.

I have always maintained that Jagaban is Nigeria's craftiest politician alive today. However the very people who bestowed the power are too blind by tribalism to act and the worst part is PDP in Lagos appears too timid to act.

He didn't develop those dictatorial traits overnight...imagine the greedy geezer had the guts to call OBJ undemocratic during his face off with Atiku when he was on his third deputy governor within 8 years. And now this?? **Spits in disgust**

Instead of grumbling, why not challenged him when he made the annoucement ?

From the comments made so far by biafrans on this thread, one would easily conclude that those ghosts that couldn't face Tinubu are also biafrans. If you feel threatened,Onitsha under-bridge and Iweka street is availablefor you to relocate.Iyaloja is a yoruba affair not for some ugly ugu sellers !

Footnotes:
The traders are so right to grumble in my views. There are proceedures to doing these things and everyone is informed over how they are done. Imposing or playing on people's opinions, right and intelligence isn't fair to say the least. In Lagos state, as do most South western states of Nigeria, women who occupy such positions are very influential. I even heard the Iyaloja of Lagos has allotted nominee capacity for certain government selective positions like Commissioner or so. That tells you how powerful such a position is. For the Tinubu's to bridge this code of ethics is a far cry from a priviledged position.

Fool, did u notice this at all?

take dat: There is a 4 page thread on this topic

www.nairaland.com/1335266/tinubu-daughter-replace-abibatu-mogaji

And the other party(ACN), has denied the report calling it the "handiwork of an idle mind"

www.nairaland.com/1336103/lagos-acn-denies-reports-tinubu

Is Tinubu the Oba of Lagos? Those who are Yoruba and understand the tradition will know that no one except the Oba of Lagos can appoint or install or confer on anyone the title, Iya Loja of Lagos!

And if the argument is about imposing the daughter as President-General, Association of Nigerian Market women and men. The question we need to ask is, can Tinubu or Fashola impose anyone when there are hundreds of market women and men scattered across the country, all members of the association and most in PDP controlled states?

The title Iyaloja is not hereditary. Tinubu, through his party has denied the report.

http://premiumtimesng.com/regional/139536-lagos-acn-denies-reports-of-tinubu-appointing-daughter-as-market-leader.html

And mind you, it is impossible for Tinubu or Fashola to impose a candidate on an association(Nigerian Market women and men) which draws it membership from markets across the country, most in PDP controlled states.

so the summary ofthe gist is that the THISDAY report is wrong? The daughter has not been anointed to fill either of her grandmother's positions?
Kindly affirm or deny this assertion. Thank you.

The insults were very unnecessary. you could make your points without resorting to it.

“The (ACN) leadership is not aware of it. It is not true and can never be true,” said Joe Igbokwe, spokesperson, Lagos ACN.
So the issue is settled,i guess? May we never have need to revisit this page again on this matter.

Can Tinubu anoint/impose his daughter on the Association of "Nigerian" not "Lagos" Market Women and Men? Can Tinubu install the daughter as Iyaloja of Lagos when he is not the Oba? Even the said meeting which was meant to confirm or reject did not hold. Not until we hear the official position of the association and the Oba before we can conclude. As it is now, he has denied such intention.
