Jesus is the chosen one of God, so declairing urself chosen in front of danger is like making the danger know under whose lordship u are.
The chosen ones are those under the Lordship of Jesus Christ cause he is the only begotten son of God CHOSEN to save the world.
The Bible says my sheep know/hear my voice and he the Sheaphard know/hear his sheep. So when ever u mention u are a chosen(u ar technically declaring ur identity with the chosen one of God in front of danger, which is Jesus Christ, it doesn't mean the word chosen is special than that Sheaphards name JESUS CHRIST) the Lord hears u and response to his flock . That's the correlation between the name JESUS and Chosen and virtually so many others. This also can be attributed or associated to the covenant associated with the name on behalf of the anointed man of God to whom God entered the covenant with to prove his power.e.g God of Abraham God of Isaac God of Israel, the God of the chosen.
God said ask for a sign in the depths and in the heights above. So when ever I am a chosen is mentioned by a true believer, God remembers the covenant with the anointed man of God as a sign for his people to believe. What happens next are testimonies and great miracles and wonders to the glory of the KING OF ALL kings.

Therefore the name CHOSEN is another name for Jesus Christ (bible scholars can attest to it) and we his true believers are his chosen ones
