Your fears, your achievements as a unit, and on a personal level. The trainings, logistics, what you think Army Shortcomings are and solutions you proffer to tackle them, without giving out Army secrets.

First, digging in should be the first thing any unit does when stopping in an area for longer than 15-30min - so its nothing special

Second, a 4km RUN in full kit is part of the Battlefield Efficiency test for infantry in the SANDF, furthermore, to pass out from Infantry School in Outdthoorn every infantryman in the SANDF is supposed to prove that he can complete 20km march with 30kg of gear in under 4 hours - so again it is nothing special

And how are they going to access their equipment in combat?

It seems you are trying to make excuses for a lack of standardized battle-dress and the lax dress regulations

what are you talking about. which photo or video have you seen Nigerian army personel of recent lacking standardized battle dress in combat? does it look like they left their equipments behind to you in that video? so what is wrong in walking light in harsh weather to the point of contact? have you been to any part of northern Nigeria before? what makes you think they won't get properly dressed when they dig in and are ready to engage?

you guys had your excuses when your troops took off their vests in CAR in a hostile area and aluded it to extreme heat. but will castigate our troops for doing the same while taking a long walk for a very different reason in a low risk route.

look at the last picture you posted. does that guy look like he is still able to enter combat for another four hours to you, or does he not look exhausted?

again, this is not a patrol or recon mission. go and find out from your trainers why such trainings exist.

Mike the truth is when a real fight is on the focus is on fighting, not dressing up.

If you doubt it go look up pix of US troops in the middle of the battle for Hue, or Russian troops in the middle of the battles in Afganistan or in fact pix of South African troops on deep penetration missions against SWAPO.

Its about getting the job done not dressing up. When the job is done then you can dress up and go on parades.
