A poem that would touched your heart Poet-ILERI ADEKOLURE Poem title-OH MY COUNTRY Despite the plentyfulness of fruit In our garden we still live in misery and Poverty,we have emaciated bone Due to malnutrition, We have no home to stay When the rain comes We have no clothes to Cover our unclothedness We have been denied The three basic needs of Life by our myopia leaders Oh my country,my country My country The drivers claim to know it all Now they are driving us Through the wrong path Our future has been jeopardize Due to our selfcentreness we Never knew we are responsible To one another our children are To bear the consequences of our Wrongs, our leaders believe in the Ordinary Minted paper to be their Life they never knew we were born In this world hand closed and we Shall leave this world hand opened Oh my country,my country,my country Our future would be determined By our hands let me be the Hangman that would hang myself For the future of my nation, Since the status quo is Ineffective against these Kleptocracy let there be Revolution. Oh my country,my country,my country Rebroadcast if u want change in Nigeria |
