Stories we have heard for many years. Let us see the roads, please, not announcements! Even Lagos Ibadan that was kicked off by His Excellency, not a single spade seems to have moved since then. We do not need talk talk, we need act act! |

Thank God for giving us president Goodluck Jonathan. A silent over-achiever, defender of the people and the most responsible president ever in the history of our beloved country. Nigeria. God bless Nigeria. FreshAir 4 Likes |

Why are they using SETRACO for any critical Federal roads especially in the erosion prone Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway? They don't have the capacity to handle such jobs! Why can't Julius Berger ever do such critical road connecting the Southsouth and Southeast? |

When will they stop fooling Nigerians, all this award without cash backing. What is the total budget of ministry of works this year and where is the money coming from. there are many federal road projects that has been abandoned or at very slow pace. so this will not be any different |

Sincere 9gerian: Meanwhile, lets reiterate the progress that have been made in the road sector in the last 2yrs. The following roads projects have been COMPLETED (32 Road Projects In all) : True many part of the country has experienced serious road rehabilation, but some few points below (1) Rumukurshi-Chokocho road in Cross River State;......This is not in CrossRiver sir. Rumukurshi should be in Port-Harcourt (2) Vandeikia-Obudu-Obodu Cattle Ranch road (Phase 1) in Benue State.......This is not true naaa....Vandeika axis is still as it is ooooo Massive work is ONGOING in various other highways in the 6 geo-political zones (1) the Onitsha–Enugu Expressway.......This also is not true, just recently passed there and did not see any thing massive, infact one section of Onitsha Enugu road is completely condemned |

PapaBrowne: Not quite. It will be more correct to say the Jonathan administration is less frivolous than their ACN counterparts who do their roads at over 2 billion per kilometre. https://www.nairaland.com/1040919/n30bn-mile-12-ikorodu-road 2 Likes |

erinolu: Looks like all these statistics are all mixed up, the truth and not so true! For instance, Ikom-Mfom road was awarded August 2009 and was due to be completed in 24 months. Why are they claiming as if it is the present government that awarded and completed it within the last 2 years? Same with Abakaliki-Mbok. http://www.rsdt.gov.ng/index.php/media-centre/picture-gallery/86-rsdt |

anonimi: 2 billion per kilometre? Shouldn't you look at the kind and features of the road ... ? Here's an excerpt from where you've quoted: N30bn Mile 12 to Ikorodu Road expansion starts The bolded are just so u take note. Not justifying the cost, but you really cannot compare a six lane metropolitan freeway to inter-state highways, don't you think? |
The short distance from Umuahia to Aba and Enugu to Lokpanta will take almost 4 years to complete. That's like dead on arrival... I think they want to spread the funding thin. But also it's a dual carriage way. |

I dont knw who this sincere 9geria of a thing works for, but i think hes too lazy to knw wat is on the ground. Do u write all these things frm china? U are too easy to be refuted because there is nothing on the ground. Ur write-up is a mockery to reality. Ur Propaganda is lame, cheap, deceitful, preposterous and condenmable. U dont love this country at all and u are wat George Snowden is to America to Nigerians |

re@lchange: I dont like Setraco... I prefer Arab contractors or Strabag. They better deliver a good job. I dont understand the approval for Arab contractors to handle Umuahia-Aba dual carriage way which was executed december 2012. I dont know what this approval is meant for, whether the upaid 2012 job or a new one. But the worst portion of Enugu-PH expressway is Lokpanta-Umuahia tower, section 1. Tyre dey burst there like tomorrow no dey. |

Nightshift: My take : awarding contract for reconstruction of Enugu - Port Harcourt expressway to Setraco Nig Ltd is wrong. Reason? The company has been doing shoddy work on the stretch Enugu - Umuahia section for over two decades. Same point i made. Many years ago, i witnessed their execution, i still remeber how shoddy their jobs are.. |
