Stories we have heard for many years. Let us see the roads, please, not announcements!

Even Lagos Ibadan that was kicked off by His Excellency, not a single spade seems to have moved since then. We do not need talk talk, we need act act!

Why are they using SETRACO for any critical Federal roads especially in the erosion prone Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway? They don't have the capacity to handle such jobs! Why can't Julius Berger ever do such critical road connecting the Southsouth and Southeast?

When will they stop fooling Nigerians, all this award without cash backing.
What is the total budget of ministry of works this year and where is the money coming from.
there are many federal road projects that has been abandoned or at very slow pace. so this will not be any different

Massive work is ONGOING in various other highways in the 6 geo-political zones

Looks like that is becoming the standard. The FG is learning from the ACN states.

Not quite.
It will be more correct to say the Jonathan administration is less frivolous than their ACN counterparts who do their roads at over 2 billion per kilometre.

Looks like all these statistics are all mixed up, the truth and not so true! For instance, Ikom-Mfom road was awarded August 2009 and was due to be completed in 24 months. Why are they claiming as if it is the present government that awarded and completed it within the last 2 years? Same with Abakaliki-Mbok.

2 billion per kilometre? Shouldn't you look at the kind and features of the road ... ?
Here's an excerpt from where you've quoted:

N30bn Mile 12 to Ikorodu Road expansion starts

The much publicised expansion work on the 13.5 kilometre Mile12 to Ikorodu Road project has begun as Lagos State government mobilised the contractor- Chinese Civil Engineering and Construction Corporation, CCECC, to site. The project is estimated to cost N30 billion.

The 59-year-old dual carriageway is to be expanded into six lanes with Bus Rapid Transit, BRT route in the middle.

Other features of the multi-million naira road project include 15 BRT bus stations, three terminals –to be located at Mile 12, Agric and Ikorodu, nine new bridges, seven pedestrian bridges to access BRT stations, nine pedestrian crossing points, 12 new U-turns to allow for traffic going towards Lagos and Ikorodu, lane markings and streetlights.

The project is scheduled to be completed within two years.

The bolded are just so u take note. Not justifying the cost, but you really cannot compare a six lane metropolitan freeway to inter-state highways, don't you think?

But the worst portion of Enugu-PH expressway is Lokpanta-Umuahia tower, section 1. Tyre dey burst there like tomorrow no dey.

Nightshift: My take : awarding contract for reconstruction of Enugu - Port Harcourt expressway to Setraco Nig Ltd is wrong. Reason? The company has been doing shoddy work on the stretch Enugu - Umuahia section for over two decades.
Another company like Arab Contractors, or JB Nig Plc should have been allowed to do the job.

Same point i made. Many years ago, i witnessed their execution, i still remeber how shoddy their jobs are..
