Earlier today, a family friend found out I didn't believe in God, and started calling me 'omo Esu', which is Yoruba for "Devil's child"

Somehow I did find it really amusing, because it reminded me of this girl I used to know that was a craaaazy Twilight fan. She would always ask everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, if they were for Team Edward or Team Jacob.

Well, how about neither, huh? Is that not an option? How about I don't f*cking like Twilight because it's a lazily written work of fiction and ultimately has no effect on the course of my life, huh? I just don't get the logic that if one doesn't believe in one fictional supernatural being, then it just has to be that they believe in said being's nemesis.

Anyway atheists in naija, do people around you know your stance? And how do you respond to them without alienating them, if you do at all?
