Cocoa House ( "the first skyscraper in Africa" ), Kingsway, Liberty Stadium, WNTV, Coca-Cola (to exploit the abundance of Kolanuts), University of Ibadan, Oluyole Industrial Estate, etc

(And much later Leyland)

Ibadan had a head start compared to most other places, then Zinc roofing sheets which is liable to rust was in vogue as compared to aluminum roofing sheets which is in vogue now.

Apart from the cars, I see no difference with Nigeria of then and the Nigeria of now, Nigeria has indeed remained stagnant or even deteriorated.

One of the bitter truth about Nigeria hate it or leave it, is Nigerians were not ready for independence before it came .
And for Christ sakes: we too dey born for this country -- we're damn over-populated
