When the local Nigerian press first ran the iPhone story, they went with an earlier edition of an Independent newspaper report which clearly stated the Nigerian government ordered those phones. This salient fact naturally escapes the minds of sycophants who have long decided to settle for crumbs thrown at them by those they worship.

Now where I am from, when you get a terse denial from a government spokesperson who's been caught pants down on more than one occasion, you look at form, you look at content. It is that simple. We don't worship public administrators over here - never mind one whose job extends to telling blatant lies. We call it as it is, regardless of whose ox is gored.

The report from your link says "Nigerian Individual" and not "Nigerian government".
