gwabe: You should, if a gracious person, defer to stakeholders. The consistent support for Aregbesola here on this thread is not accidental. Such support comes from people who knew what obtained before Aregbesola came on board and what has been achieved today under him. You cannot come here disrespecting those stakeholders while hiding under the excuse of "condemning corruption". The accusations are too ludicrous to be taken seriously by those fully aware of the facts. This is why stakeholders have all pooh-poohed this poor effort packaged around an id1otically unbelievable pack of lies This is how Nigerians use big big grammar when the want to hide/condone corruption. am not suprised gwabe you are a stakeholder in the fraud, i do not expect you to be objective or give the OPs point credence. Defer to stakeholders indeed -- you mean the corrupt ones LOL 1 Like |

Atouke: As always, I have validated my position factually while you only run on the fuel of sentiments and whatever else motivates your criticism. I have shown precisely why I cannot give "credence" to anything the author of the article stated. This is a character asking Aregbesola to explain to the people of Osun the "ownership" of a Company inaugurated in 1990 when Aregbesola was aged 33 and, for example, Governor Fayemi of Ekiti was 25 !!! Was Aregbesola anywhere near Ratcon in 1990 or has Ratcon now been officially sold to Aregbesola for this author to ask an elected Governor to explain the ownership of a Company with publicly available record of ownership and incorporation? Has Ratcon been indicted of incompetence or anything unsavoury? Where, worldwide, do you see citizens taking issues with who gets the job done if the job is done right? Are you for real? We should ask why you and others are so keen to give credence to such 1diotically and poorly packaged lies a 6 year old will look upon with disdain. Then again, I know the answer to that question. |

Gwabe if you or any of the stakeholders want to show that you are credible sources, rather than use big big words to cover rauf corruption as raised by the original poster please answer this allegation that he raised with facts not sentiment/big grammar: 1) Is Rauf appointing mostly lagos residence to political offices in osun as opposed to Osun resident? thereby undermining the state residence a chance to be close/contribute to the development in the state? 2) Is Rauf nepotistic by giving most state contracts to his family members ie opon imo to his son Kabiru and the state school uniform to his wife?with all its attendant fraud and inflation of contract sums? 3) Was opon imo awarded at N8.5billion for 3500 tablets out of which less than 600 has been distributed to students in the whole state ie about 200 opon imo per senatorial district while there are over 1million school kids in osun state. 4) Why is RATCOM a construction company with no pedigree ie no history of completing any project in the state or anywhere else the preferential contractor for raufs administration. what is raufs ties to RATCOM? 5) Why is rauf demolishing/merging schools instead of hiring more teachers/renovating schools? 6) Is the Abiola Airport, best western hotels and the host of other projects that rauf has just announced a pollitical gimmick to get votes next year ? for we know that the state cannot afford those projects with its meager allocation. 1 Like |

eGuerrilla: Thank you. What Aregbesola is mainly guilty of is burning ambition and an impatience to see Osun develop as quickly as possible. To that extent he will often initiate very laudable plans cash, for a very poor State, is not available to implement immediately and totally. In the end , he always secures the funding to make things work. He has delivered with commitment and focus. That is a style of administration which may not be to the taste of many but not fraudulent or dishonest either. Delay in the supply of Opon Imo is not reason for any objective and progressive mind to shout "fraud". Same as delay in the completion of the Lagos light rail, the first of its kind in Nigeria, is an issue of paucity of funds and nothing else. Administrators do not spend time brainstorming award-winning innovation to then ruin such with fraud. Yet one cannot mitigate for the id1ocy of some here which makes them predisposed to believing anything however ludicrous such is. I personally think we are in a period where Nigerians must protect their best leaders from charlatans who have lost out and will use vile agents, lies and deceitful machination in an effort to regain the office that provides them with what they did to result in them being booted out. I.e loot massively and unconscionably without giving the people anything at all. We should not go back to the days of hideous indolence and ridculous stagnation. They talk of "propaganda" yet use the link below yourself to see evidence and pictures of what Aregbesola is doing to deserve the loyalty he got here, from stakeholders, while Oyinlola only succeeded to turn Osun into one big "Owambe" zone for the PDP. http://osun.gov.ng/infrastructure/roads/township-roads/ |

“As if this is not okay, he has sold large portions of Osun land to Lagos State government for farming purposes. geeez: the introduction of the same uniform for schools is the highest level of scam I've ever witnessed in this state. lemme give u the analogy of how things are. 1. Mr gov promised to distribute uniform freely to the students. 2. He introduced the same uniform for all schools and claimed that it is because he want to safe few money from purchasing different uniforms for schools. 3. Sam and Sata produced the first set of uniform and they were truely distributed to students for free. 4. Schools are about to resume for another academic session and definitely students will need new uniform. 5. Mr Gov commissioned Omoluabi garment industry to be the one to produce the uniforms as u cant get it anywhere else in market except form government. 6. Looking closely at the Bill board of Omoluabi garment industry, u'll see sam and sata written there with very small font (will upload picture here tomorrow). 7. Mr Gov monopolized the uniform market and can do what we expect from a monopoly market, 8. He introduced money to the uniform as they will no longer be distributed for free. 9. with 900 naira before u can get a uniform for ur ward but Ogbeni's least price is 1,500. 10. sam and sata is afraid of joining the competition in free market and used the help of ogbeni to monopolize the market while they'll make maximum gain. i believe u get it now. |

Sincere 9gerian: Mumu, can you tell Nairalanders where the road below are in Lagos State? You should be ashamed of yourself. Me and you may be dedicated to our political camps but I draw the line at maligning PDP/labour/APGA/DPP administrators , or any others, I know are genuinely delivering for and loved by their people. That is what we should all uniformly subscribe to if predisposed to the developmental aspect of Nigerian politics. When a leader is loved by his own people, who are fiercely happy with his leadership on their behalf, a decent person (especially when a non-stakeholder) will not go there. Political sophistication means we must, whatever our personal convictions, defer to the opinions of the electorate at all times. If, for example, Abians say they are happy with Orji then who am I to forcefully join issues with and insult those stakeholders over that announcement even if I personally disagree with their opinion? You, on the other hand, are not the least bit principled or morally upright so I am not surprised the same Aregbesola you have praised elsewhere is the leader you now attempt to malign because of your ignoble and two-faced nature. http://osun.gov.ng/infrastructure/roads/township-roads/ 1 Like |

A-ZeD: Thak you, you raised a very good question. there is no such law. it is good for non indigenous /residents to be appointed in other states. i applaud such initiative and hope that other states in the federation do same. afterall ogbeni was a commissioner for works for the lagos state GOVT under Asiwaju. That said here is the problem, Ogbeni was a commisioner in lagos because he resided in lagos for years and knew the problems inherent in the state and hence could proffer solutions for it. So is Ben Akubueze. What Ogbeni is doing in Osun is different, he is importing people from lagos note those people do not live in osun, and has no ties to the people or problems of osun and hence do not know what the problems of osun or what the people want and hence will not be able to proffer solutions to osun problems. Thats why you see them bringing the solution of lagos problems to Osun for solution ie Lagos because of its small size lacks farm land for agriculture. this is a big problem in lagos so what the lagos base osun administrators/commissioners/ appointees did is to annex Osun land to solve lagos Agric. land problem. this is what you get when you do not allow indigenes/resident to patake in the development of their state. they bring imported problems and foreign solutions to the state which has no bearing to the desired development for the masses in the state. 1 Like |

Re: Aregbesola’s Massive Looting Of Osun State by Atouke: 5:57pm On Oct 01, 2013 |
Gbawe: You mean the opon imo? thats what that article was about. here is the fact Rauf released N8.5billion for 3500 units of opon imo to his son kabiru which on its own is very controversial interms of cost/nepotism. but the problem is of the 3500 units ordered only 600 units has been released in the entire state ie 200 units per senatorial district and there are over 1million school age kids in osun state. hence i classify Opon imo project as a media hyped initiated/ started project untill all the 3500units of opon imo is released and concrete plans are on grounds to provide for the remaining 996,500 + school kids. 2 Likes |

I strongly admonish Gbawe and other sensible people here to desist from arguing with these useless people denigrating the personality of ogbeni aregbesola. I live in osogbo. Only a fool will compare the performances of aregbesola under 3 years with those of oyinlola under 8 years. Oyinlola's tenure was marred by failure, oppression and so on. only few roads were constructed during the time of oyinlola with several others not completed. Oyinlola borrowed about $18bn to found the construction of 6 stadia in the state but up till now no single stadium is on ground. Old garage-ikirun road dualisation is almost complet under 3 years of aregbesola. Other roads that are completed and been used presently used include fagbewesa road, isale aro road, gbodofon road, fiwasaye-tanisi road, gbeja okebaale road, awosuru alekuwodo road, housing-tinumola road and so on with several others under construction. All these roads were in bad shapes during oyinlola tenure but they were left undone. Its been three months now since I've been back to osogbo from school. Throughout these 3 months, there has been constant water supply which didn't happen before during oyinlola tenure. Anyone that lives in osun state and say aregbe is under-performing is been biased. I lived in osogbo throughout the 7 years of oyinlola so I know the different between the two governors. Aregbesola may not be the best....BUT he is by far better that oyinlola/pdp in terms of achievements in office. 1 Like |

Atouke: Nowhere has it ever been reported that the tablet will be distributed to 1 million students, so you clearly need to maintain a sense of proportion here. I have questions of my own regarding the durability of these tablets and also the possible long-term effects on the health of users. Had your inquiry focused on the estimated 63,000 Naira per unit cost, which supposedly includes the cost of licensing e-copies of text books, I suspect your concerns might have appealed more to probable allies - 63,000 X 150,000 = N9.45 billion. History will judge Oyinlola, others – Aregbesola Source In the excerpt presented above, you will note that I have highlighted a statement which lends credence to the over-reach @Gbawe mentioned earlier. 1 Like |

Using osogbo as case study because that is where I leave, modern mega schools are now under construction with most almost completed all through osogbo. Although it is true that scholls are been merged together, but it is in the interests of the students because hitherto those students receive lectures in filthy environments with most of their classrooms dilapidated and unconducive. But now they are transferred to newly built classrooms which gives them more comfort. Also the distribution of opon imo is being done on daily basis in different zones of the state and by november it will be completed. Healthcare has also been given a boost by aregbesola. I went to the state general hospital @ asubiaro few weeks back and I must confess there were improvements in the delivery of services compared to the past. There are now sufficient doctors and nurses on ground to attend to patients. Drugs are also now available. What more can I say.....the opposition will always find faults with aregbe's tenure. Aregbesola is indeed god-sent to osun after 7 years of pdp under-performance |

Atouke: Stakeholders am forced to bring this question back as non of you has attempted to provide answers to themThis is another question that is 'tricky'. One quality always trumps quantity. So building more schools and hiring more teachers does't necessarily mean increased quality of education and that's one of the problems of Nigeria. (in)Sincere Nigerian goes about claiming that one of the achievements of GEJ is the building of more universities but today, ASUU is on strike and the only thing the more universities will do is produce more half-baked gradutes. I can't say that is Rauf's reason for doing what he is doing, i just wan't you to tackle Rauf on quality not quantity. |
