Igbo Hatred Still Oozing Out Of Obasanjo – APGA Chairman by JECBOSS: 1:58am On Dec 15, 2013 |
The National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh has enjoined President Goodluck Jonathan to ignore the antics of former President Olusegun Obasanjo saying that after all, he, Obasanjo created most of the problems inherited by Jonathan. Umeh who spoke to journalists in Awka advised Chief Obasanjo not to misinterpret President Jonathan’s humility as weakness, and contended that Obasanjo ought to be in jail now for sundry crimes against humanity, citing the Odi and Zaki Biam massacres as examples. Umeh said Nigerians should hold Chief Obasanjo responsible for the present woes of the country as he bungled very bright opportunity of re- positioning and launching the country on course for sustainable greatness. He regretted that instead of Obasanjo uniting the country on assumption of office in 1999, he carried on a war of hate against Ndigbo and continued to undermine their growth and welfare. Chief Umeh regretted that Chief Obasanjo continued to promote ethnic and religion differences, that resulted in wholesale violence and loss of lives that qualified him to be tried for crime against humanity. He noted that under the former President, corruption and impunity became a way of life in the country when privileged few were given monopoly on economic powers. Chief Umeh said Chief Obasanjo’s letter was a confirmation of the heavy blow his administration dealt on democracy when election rigging and manipulations were used to muscle out opposition parties and recalled that APGA suffered the same terrible fate in 2003, when its victory in many states was given to PDP and it took three years of legal battle for Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State to reclaim his mandate. He made clear that Chief Obasanjo had no positive reference point or legacy for the people of Nigeria and should therefore not to be taken seriously. The APGA Chairman noted in particular billions of dollars squandered by the Obasanjo regime on the power sector without any result as well as the huge resources wasted in pursuit of his third term bid. Umeh urged Jonathan to continue his dedicated service to the nation and commended his knack for building enduring democratic institutions that allow the electorate to elect leaders of their choice without interference with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) or the peoples vote. http://dailyindependentnig.com/2013/12/igbo-hatred-still-oozing-obasanjo-umeh/ 1 Like |

tpia@: People like Umeh says thing like this to remain relevant in Iboland. Most Ibos respond positively when they hear there is a Yoruba man that hates them. I have never seen Umeh or Obi talk to their people without saying Yorubas hate them. They love politics of hate and division. They have never campaigned where they told their people what they have done to impact the lives of Ibo people. They wouldn't point that out because there is nothing to show except their fat bank accounts home and abroad. 14 Likes |

If not for Obasanjo's boldness, courage and overall fair-mind, Okonjo would still be struggling to reach pinnacle at the World Bank, Iherjirika would have been retired long ago as a result of age over rank...or better still trying to become a GOC. Umeh and his group in APGA are the REAL ENEMIES of Igbo. Chino...aka JECBOSS, you too because of the crumbs that fall from politicians that are of nuisance value to Igbo interest...you never think before posting any nonsense that comes out of their putrid mouths. 10 Likes |

payless: Is it a lie then that Yoruba hates Igbo? Or we should go around this dance of pretense over again? I always pray God to give Obasanjo and other Igbo haters a long miserable life to witness the glory of Igbos and they can't do a damn thing about it! Having failed to use the G5 governors to pull the GEJ administration down, Obasanjo is plotting a coup d'etat against the democratically elected government of Nigeria. This time around,he will not escape justice. He should just try and see. 1 Like |

If not for Obj cowardice and cluelessness Odi people woudn't have been massacred just for Obj to please his colonial masters,Bakassi wouldn't have been given away to Cameroon without puting up a fight, after all he was supposed to be a Nigerian civil war hero *grins*, i guess the fear of the French nukes was the beginning of wisdom. And oh! Okonjo didn't need Nigeria, let alone clueless and coward Obj, it was the other way round, Nigeria needed Okonjo. Ihejirika got to his position out of merit, unless you are suggesting that we should clap for Obj for not pulling him down, like you lots have been doing to Igbos for long time now. Ihejirika worked for his success. 3 Likes |

Is this man not butteressing Obassanjo's claim that Jonathan is supporting the candidate of other political parties against his party? They claim APGA is Igbo party, but it only just struggled to manipulate a governor elect in 5 states in their region. Go and unite your selves and field a Presidential candidate as other regions are scheming! 4 Likes |

I hope igbos still remember that Jonathan is ijaw, an ethnic group smaller in number than theirs.. Umeh should be more concerned about pushing the igbo tribe up to the level where its should be as the third largest ethnic group in Nigeria. |

Typical. Very crude and medieval in their thought process. Since when did an Ijaw man become Igbo and what has the letter got to do with Igbo's? These clowns just take their victim mentality everywhere...the most bigoted people on the planet. |

Here we are bickering over the divisive utterances of a clearly manipulative and self serving politician. These are the kind of issues Obj raised in his letter. Utterances like these serve but only one purpose; to drive a wedge between ethnic nationals and foster hate, prejudice, and rancour. My only problem is, when sh!it hits the fan, these same individuals who contributed in no small measure to bring sh!it about, and their families, would be the first to bolt out of the country. They would go live in the paradise mansions they built with our stolen monies in lands where freedom, truth, and justice prevail, thousands of miles away from the mess the have created, and leave us to do ourselves in! Their bloodlines would record the least amount of casualties!! Umeh is a cheap opportunist, whose every deed and utterances people should be wary of. I believe our Igbo brothers are smarter than this and can tell a friend from a foe. Umeh has never meant well and will never mean well for you people. 2 Likes |

Umeh should be more concerned about pushing the igbo tribe up to the level where its should be as the third largest ethnic group in Nigeria. The igbo are the second largest nigerian tribe after the hausas.don't tell me anything thing about census figures as it only captures states population and not tribe. There are present in every state of the federation as the second largest tribe after the indigenes.you hardly find yorubas in other non-yoruba states |

pazienza: Shut up! Why was there a reaction in Odi? You don't go killing the Nigerian soldiers and refused to produce the perpetrators and expect a friendly reaction. GEJ is the real coward here....if not, he would have given the Odi treatment to the Ombtase people....but his cluelessness....selfish interest allowed hundred of Nigerian security officers got killed without lifting a finger. Okonjo....you are just a typical Ibo boy that goes around beating chest....did you know or heard her name before OBJ brought her home...perhaps not... Ihenjrika worked for his success and got rewarded because OBJ turned around the ways of our military....he re oriented the service back to professionalism by courageously sacking most political military officers. Indeed most of you have very short memory. You can accuse OBJ of anything...but tribalism CANNOT be one...your APGA brothers from Obi...Umeh to your last man are the real one that hate Ibos by constantly and continuously creating further wedge with other parts of Nigeria. He specifically mentioned Bola Tinubu ....have you seen him whining all over the town that OBJ hates Yorubas....even when we know that OBJ kind of nationalism have also gives the Yorubas the short end of the stick? You Ibos need to start questioning the utterances and actions of your supposed elders rather than accepting all the gibberish they says 3 Likes |
