A self acclaimed activist should be mindful of the consequences of domestic violence. Beating a woman is a sign of weakness. There can never be any excuse for beating your wife.

Honestly he is worse than Sullivan. At least that one never claimed to be interested in fighting for human rights. I guess this Dino guy feels his wife is not a human being. She is just a wife. It seems to be the recurring theme in Nigerian marriages.

I learnt from my teenage days NEVER to lay hands on a female no matter how much she provokes me. I had an argument with my sister and it degenerated into a physical battle and I beat her blue black. My dad got back home and I was hoping to justify my actions as she was the first to hit me. Lo and behold, my dad wasn't having it.........I don't think my dad had ever beaten me that much before. He asked me to kneel down for about an hour after which he called me to the room and talked to me man to man. In his exact words "women are weaker vessels and should be protected by men not battered". I asked what I should have done when provoked by my sister earlier in the day. He replied swiftly saying you should just have walked away, walking away doesn't make you a weak man. Only shows you have control of your temper which makes you even a stronger man. I was only lucky to have had this experience as a teenager, a good number of men never had same or similar experience and don't see anything wrong in battering a woman. The laws in Africa don't do much justice on the subject matter either. Domestic violence in developed parts of the world is handled more seriously than in most African countries. There needs to be proper education and enlightenment on domestic violence in African countries. You'll be shocked that some so called elites of the society engage in this shameful act. My sincere advice to women is never to put up with a man who turns you into a punching bag. If it happens once, it can pass for a mistake but the very second it repeats itself, please run as fast as your legs can take you. The chances of such a man changing from his wicked ways are very low. Don't give into pressure from the society and end up risking your life.
