And no SAT doesn't place you at any advantage for Canadian universities, it's a US thing!

there are two majors to chose there and must be on Vancouver campus must be among the courses Faculty of Arts (Economics and Computer Science majors only)
Faculty of Applied Science (Engineering)
Faculty of Forestry
Faculty of Land & Food Systems (including Global Resource Systems; Food, Nutrition & Health; Applied Biology
(Applied Animal Biology, Applied Plant & Soil Sciences or Food & the Environment))
Faculty of Science
Sauder School of Business (Bachelor of Commerce) when you chose one move to next know were your major falls

From my experience, undergrad programs that don't require the sats are usually not as reputable as those that do. Of course, at the end of the day, it's all about what you know (at least ideally), but getting a foot into the job market over there would be much much easier coming from a top tier or above average school.

If you wanna play the U.S game, please try to play it right. Set 2-3 months aside, ahead of the test date to study, in which you devote a min of 2-3 hours daily. The test isn't hard at all, you just have to be faithful in your commitment to study

As per the cost, you could always get someone to support your cause when they see just how determined you are.
