My colleague did his traditional wedding in September this year and the lady has been living with him thereafter. His pastor whith his head of unit in church visited him last week Sunday and rebuked them for staying together because they haven't done the church/white wedding yet.
He's confused now that can't someone decides that he's gonna do only traditional wedding? Is it illegal to live with your wife after trad?

church wedding is known as white wedding. Western tradition. We have our african tradition. Why are we mixing both. Jesus attend a traditional wedding in cana where he did the first miracle. He did not tell them to go for white wedding.
Some pastors are just seeking for more money. Bless their union for them, is that not enough?

God has alot of judgement to do on the last day.

After doing traditional marriage u're free to start living with your wife. White wedding is good if you want to do it. Don't mind those self aclaimed pastors.

Pls I need more opinions on this issue to help this my friend make decisions cos he's emotionally down now cos of the pastor's statement.

the most important one is the traditional wedding all others are just for formality based on our culture.
the churches just want you to identify with them by marrying in their church so that they can tie you down with their religious laws.

A man who has done trad marriage n done evrythn required of him by custom, is fully,legally n righteously married.white wedding is d white mans trad wedding.

However as xtians it may be necessary for us to invite d clergy to pray n dedicate d marriage,but d absence of dat does nt mk a trad marriage incomplete.at least d bible did nt say or infer so

My advice? For ur conscience sake,he could tk his wife to d altar 4 marriage blessing.

But truely he is nt wrng for living as man n wyf wt his spouse after completing d trad rites.
