Adamawa: Buba Marwa, Others Shun APC Leaders Meeting To Settle Crisis

Since the defection of Adamawa state Governor, Murtala Nyako to the All Progressives Congress, the state chapter of the party has witnessed a political crisis rocking that threatens its formation ahead of the 2015 election.

The party held its first State Interim Committee meeting to settle issues relating to the defection of the State Governor Murtala Nyako from his former party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) PDP into APC.

Recall the leadership of the APC had handed over the chapters of the party to the governors that defected the PDP, but that decision hasn’t been favorable to long time members.. Hence the need by the party to call for a meeting to settle the differences.

But the said meeting is being presided by a party to the dispute, who happens to be the Adamawa governor, Murtala Nyako.

The meeting held at the Dougirei Government House Yola was attended by notable party chieftains, including the former Presidential Candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and former State Minister of Defense under the Government of National Unity Abdurrahaman Abbah.

But some chieftains of the party who are members of the State Interim Committee, including former Military Governor of Lagos state General Buba Marwa, Hajiya Fati Balla, Engineer Markus Gundiri, Hon Titsi Kwaga Ganama, Hon. Haske Francis Hananiya, Barr. Boss Mustapha and Mr. Vincent Musa were conspicuously absent at the meeting.

The North East Interim National Vice Chairman of the party Dr. Umar Duhu when contacted for comments on why some notable members of the committee were absent during the meeting, confirmed sending invitation to all the members of the Interim Committee but noted that some members simply and deliberately refused to attend.

What will become of the APC in months to come will be determined by the peace talks by the leadership and the worrying parties in the state chapter.

Political interest of the governor and the defected elected politicians who were promised or bribed with automatic return tickets seals the ambitions of any aspiring APC politician.

Let's see how APC solves its problems and the effectiveness of its conflict resolution mechanism.

Wishing them Goodluck notwithstanding.

Defecting governors can retain the APC Machinery of their states whilst founding members can have federal appointments if the party wins presidential election. Otherwise, they might have to do with contracts for their companies in APC controlled srates.

Then there will be little or no power to share and little or no need for conflict.

Mumu. What is bad in what he said?
Are you saying awarding a contract to a company that eventually fulfilled contarct terms like the Ikoyi bridge is bad while the one that cannot repair MMA is good?

Hahahaahahahaahahaa!

The same thing you accuse PDP of doing: corruption. You advocate APC to adopt the same model of corruption. So sharing contracts among their cronies is the best way to solve APC's internal crisis? Then why blame PDP?

The same APC that claim to be anti-corruption crusaders and advocates of due process want to now adopt PDP model of solving internal crisis.

Hahahahaahahahahahaha.

In a few days it will be 2014 APC needs to settle the state section, u can't give total control out like dat, it will only cause bad blood within the party. They need to look for other ways to compensate either the decampees or the already established management. But b4 dey decide dey shuld kn dat these management play a very vital roll in d eventual success/failure of APC, choice wisely. They have entered 1 chance d very day dey accepted d PDP crew into dere company, bet dey never planned for it. U people will be busy fighting internal battle for the next 10month will GEJ will be smiling to d bank. This distractions are wat is making APC miss vital strategic battle points, dey shuld allow old management continue and find another way of compensating d decampee.

Two things: I am not an APC member. Secondly, that is the way politics works across the world. The major difference is that contractors in other countries do the job. PDP contractors simply ignore doing the job. How do you think the Lagos State Government operates?

However, it manages to comparatively deliver when evaluated with the PDP.

I am a pragmatic person and do not engage in dubious delusional analysis.

Of two evils choose the lesser. The APC is lightyears ahead of the PDP.

How many Nigerians know how government awards contracts? Trust me, it is possible to follow due process and still end up with your loyalists as benefeciaries. Why? Most Nigerians simply do not understand how government works and therefore cannot effectively engage it to their benefit. Politicians understand these workings unless we want to fool ourselves.

#LOL

You disagree? Go and find out the names behind the companies that have acquired the 18 successor companies of the PHCN.

Atiku and Tambuwal are not even APC members as we write... The implosion you see is rather wishful thinking because people have learnt and now understand that power can be shared across platforms. It has worked in the former ACN states and can work at the national level.

Then stop crying about PDP.

Are you saying all the contracts under this PDP's administration are all not done.

Are you saying all the contracts under APC's state are all executed (amaechi monorail come to mind).

Guy, look for an easy way out of your messsssss.

So, APC is coming into power to re-award the PHCN companies to their own cronies as PDP did?

Then why say PDP is corrupt?

Guy, look for an easy way out of your messsssss.

Let me give an example- There are 2 major critical roads in Lagos State- Ikorodu road and Apapa-Oshodi expressway.

The state government does repair work on Ikorodu road because of its BRT lanes and has beautified the medians at major bus stops with gardens. The road is lit at night with street lights.

However, Apapa-Oshodi expressway is crumbling despite the award of the repair by the Federal Government. The repair work is painfully slow and you can forget street lights on it even with the award of the contract.

These are things you cannot hide.

I have not said that... I am only pointing out that politicians tend to get the best access to contracts, policies and programmes of government. They know how to get them, something non-politicians do not know.

I don't think APC has stands in the defected governors states aside Kwara. imagine notable stakeholders shunning the party's meeting at this hour when I believe they should be formulating strategies on how to dislodge the evil called PDP.
