joywendy: lol...it's happens at times. It depends on the kind you are playing either blitz or the classical chess. Blitz is fast, just play and make sure your time doesn't run out. Fast thinking. Different from the classical chess where you have to seat and think for a while before playing.
So maybe we could play sometime?
Sure. Let me hunt down my user I.d and password again smiley

a much better opponent compared to the other game, started well. Strong defense and it was his weak point. He was just defending not attacking, I guess he's a strong believer of the saying 'a strong defense is the best form of attack'. Not in every case like this one for example, he had a free piece! If he taken that piece he won't have had the problem he faced towards the ending. He is very poor at attacking, poor foresight. He tried sha, he gave you a bit of a tough time I can see from the begining.He would have had you, just that one blunder ruined things and gave u an upper edge.But mehn that stunt you tried in that 14th move, Best part of the game for me smiley he had no choice than to break the pawn alignment in front of the king leaving his king exposed! Kind words Joy. Thanks grin

I must say though that he is not a fish (at least he's not such a bad player). However he seems to have one pattern of playing which I later discovered after seeing some of his games.

King and rook mate never occurred to me during the game as his rook was still on the board. I doubt it would have been possible. In addition I was certain I could queen that passed pawn which in its lust to expand (Nimzowitsch) would tie down blacks pieces. My king had already infiltrated the black territory.

Time controls were one hour per side. The dude was ahead on time for most of the game. It was only when he realised he was in trouble that he started using up more time. The game finished with roughly 23 minutes remaining on each side.

You are right, the queen exchange only helped me not him. In fairness to him, the position was already bad for him and he was probably seeing ghosts on the board.

This guy is a better player. However when he met my first opponent, I think he won a piece. My first opponent is a very stubborn player (to the point of irritation) and played on until this second guy blundered and lost the game.

What free piece? All he had was a free pawn (after my 8th move) which if he had taken might have probably turned the game around because of the psychological effect of making an unnecessary blunder.

About the 14th move, before then, I had actually wanted to capture on the 13th move with Ncxd4 but I was worried about my opponent playing 14 Bf5 and I wasnt sure how I could meet that comfortably. On the other hand, the pin didnt bother me too much because I could always break it. He didnt have the time or tempo to add pressure to the piece. He either removes the bishop or adds pressure. If he adds pressure, i take the bishop on f3. If he removes the bishop I could play Qb4 for example breaking the pin. Either way, I have an extra pawn.

Theres a third game but the silly spambot banned me for posting it and hid the game. I wrote to the mods to release my post but they didnt. I will post it again and hope I dont get banned.

@jayriginal you are welcome. grin
That ur first opponent ehn Seemed like a fish to me, waiting till someone makes a blunder at the end is just pathetic. Why not just play well from the beginning? Oppurtunist is what he is, very cunning. The free piece I was talking about is that pawn he refused to take. Mmm....you are right about that.I would re anaylize that ur first game to see if The rook and king mate would work.Thank goodness the post has been released. Would check that later. You are on chess.com? Add me let's play smiley congrats on the gold medal smiley
Chessguru! Hello!
InesQor I don't mind at all. smiley

I used to think that I was on chess.com

Apparently Im not. I will find time and open an account soon and maybe download the app on my phone.

As for the first guy, he really isnt a fish. I think he was just playing too quickly.

@joywendy Thanks!

P.S. Joywendy sometimes the clock is a really mean thing. So when I see a recorded game, first question I ask is: how many minutes/hrs per side and how much incremental time? cheesy Personally I love 5 minutes (and less) games cos they force me to think fast. Blitz is lovely until your internet connection lags. Oh, the rage then! Lol

I had closed my account on chess.com a while back cos I didn't have enough self-control. My new username is NesQor.

@Jayriginal please let me know your chess.com username once you have registered so I can add you up.

I just sent requests to a couple of usernames that I found on this thread. Let's have at some games sometime!

@MissMeiya If you're still down to learn to play chess, we should find some time this weekend to go through the basics, and move on from there.
