@ GAZZUZZ you are really trying.
please looking at getting a low budget car.
what make is easier and cheap to maintain.
your advice will be greatly appreciated

the question is what is your defnition for low budget, is it in terms of tokunbo, Nigerian Used or brand new car

but i will advise you to stick with a four cylinder cars and maximum of 1.8 litre engine capacity, possibly it also depends on drive, I love manual cars cos they are engaging to drive but some love passive driving in automatic.

The choice is yours

Note that its cheaper to maintain manual cars than automatic...atleast gurus here can attest to that

I will recomment a golf 3 or toyota corolla 96 or nissan sunny 98 - 2000 model or maybe volvo s40 such a nice car

their parts are available and cheap, like nissan

toyota parts are also available so I wish you good luck

what is your budget

Nigerian used of these cars...i advise you buy Nigerian used cars that are manual oooo only, you can get em from 300k upwards

tokunbo from 450k upwards

new then think

good luck

Hello my informed friends. A friend just installed a used transmission on a 4cyl 2001 accord but with issues. The car shifts smoothly like new when cold with no jerks at all. It starts misbehaving when warmed up. It will start with jerky shifting on gear 1-2 and eventually end up in limp mode with blinking D4. Codes p1753 and p0730 were pulled. Turning it off and on brings it out of limp mode but it goes back as soon as it wants to shift to 2.
Any advice on how to solve this issue? Is the transmission a bad one? Please help.

P1753 Problem in Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve Circuit
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid harness is open or shorted
- Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid

Location

P0730 Honda - Faulty Shift Control System: fixing the p1753 should solve this problem.

Replace TCC solenoid, Clear codes test vehicle and re-scan for errors.

If you still have problems after replacing TCC, replace transsmission(gearbox)

Good luck.

This article is about engine idle.
Idling is running a vehicle's engine when the vehicle is not in motion. This commonly occurs when drivers are stopped at a red light, waiting while parked outside a business or residence, or otherwise stationary with the engine running. When idling, the engine runs without any loads except the engine accessories.

Idling MythsEdit

Myth: restarting the engine uses more gas than idling. Reality: an engine restart uses fuel approximately equal to 10 seconds of idling.
Myth: restarting the engine causes greater engine wear than idling. Reality: restarting causes less.
Myth: cars need to idle to warm up the engine. Reality: the engine warms up faster when being driven.

The codes are these:
1. ECT sensor 1 circuit high input (P0118)
2. IAT sensor circuit high voltage ( P0113)
Re: Honda City 2005-2008 Engine Free Gift by (m): 10:51am
Once they start d car, d rpm fluctuates btw 1 & .3 goes up & down.
Also d 1st code thrown was "02 sensor heater circuit bank 1 sensor 1" and d panel beater earlier who worked on d exhaust did plug a sensor somewhere & d "02 sensor" cleared but thrown other codes including d above 2 which remains after others hv being cleared by a mech.....
I'm presently in their workshop now 10:51am

ECT sensor 1 circuit high input (P0118)

If I remember well your vehicle is a 1998 model honda accord this is your coolant temperature usually has a green socket circuit high means its probably not connected, clean the contacts and re-scan

IAT sensor circuit high voltage ( P0113)

Intake air temp sensor, also check that the pins are not corroded, clean and rescan

Personaly I think you should look at your IACV it ususally does not throw a code when dirty have it serviced.

For a 1mz engine you have a combination of 2 belts, 1(small belt) to drive the power steering pump, the other to drive the alternator and a/c compressor, there are not pulleys in between. The noise you are getting is from 1 or both belts (slack), have them adjusted or replaced. Its a very easy 10min job.

My Camry 1999 V6 is overheating. I've checked for leaks, none. I even changed the fan, flushed the radiator. What could probably be wrong?

Does it burn coolant fluid? If yes, then you have a bad head gasket, or there is a cylinder crack.
Other causes of overheating is faulty water pump and failed thermostat which you MUST replace with another working type. DON'T ever let any mechanic remove your thermostat and couple your engine without installing a new working thermostat.

I have 3 solutions for u.

1. Check all boot seals (rubber that runs round) ensure its fittet well along the frame.
2.Get in the boot with a flash light and have some one hose the car down with water with ur flash light look for leaks

3.Check taillight seals or the trunk weatherstrip. Water might be flowing down the sheet metal.
Also check the seal on your antenna

The water doesn't have to drip into the boot and soak through. It can often run along the metal and run underneath the soundproofing and the carpet

Best of luck.
Pls in my own case I noticed water under the drivers footmate and rain didn't fall. Could it be the AC water that is leakin?

A.c drainpie is possibly blocked or evaporator is leaking. Get under the car with a long sharp object or stick poke the drain pipe and remove any dirt blocking it. Also bend down under passangers side dash board area and check for water leaks.

Operation of the cooling Fan(s)

Like the thermostat, the cooling fan has to be controlled so that it allows the engine to maintain a constant temperature in most cars like my peugeot 406 the fan starts up around 87-88 degrees Celsius and stays on until the temp drops to 79degress.

Front-wheel drive cars have electric fans because the engine is usually mounted transversely, meaning the output of the engine points toward the side of the car. The fans are controlled either with a thermostatic switch or by the engine computer, and they turn on when the temperature of the coolant goes above a set point. They turn back off when the temperature drops below that point.
Rear-wheel drive cars with longitudinal engines usually have engine-driven cooling fans. These fans have a thermostatically controlled viscous clutch. This clutch is positioned at the hub of the fan, in the airflow coming through the radiator. This special viscous clutch is much like the viscous coupling sometimes found in all-wheel drive cars.

Connecting the fans to work all the time when the engine is running is bad for the engine and will reduce engine life and cause engine to burn more fuel.
please house ,I need tutorial on how to return my fan to factory settings. That is, it spins immediately ignition is on.i drive a 1996 honda accord cc7 1.8i ls, otherwise known as 'bullet '

I'm shocked you said some months!!! How have you been using the car? If you had a leak I would understand but what's your reason for drivng with an empty reservoir?

At the base of the radiator there is a drain valve ensure engine is cool before letting the coolant out.

Good luck.
Boss ,which coolant is recommended? Red or green? Any particular brand in kind? Thanks again for my bother grin

In your case locate the coolant temp switch, its coloured green, most times it is shorted with a wire to make the fans direct, just remove the wire and plug the socket back to the switch and problem should be solved.

Maintainance light, press and hold the odometer reset button (do not release) then turn on ignition (do not start) keep holding for 10sec maintenance light should dissapear, then release. This light comes up when your service interval is due.

Abs: you did not give me any specific code

Cvesta please do not take this advice, if your rollers are bad, have them replaced, pouring oil on serpentine belts will weaken them and they would expand or snap.
