davido05: Sure, you can re-apply at any time. Bank statements aren't required; you just need to be able to show how you are able to afford the cost of the education. |

please guys I need help concerning my mum invitation, I recently invited my mum through the b1/b2 visa application, she was denied after the consular asked her about what she intends doing in the States, she replied by saying she want to go visits her son family, up next was the denial letter and that is it, my mum is 48ys and she doesn't speak English fluently, my question is does the embassy provide accommodation for those who don't speak English and when can she apply again because her interview was 10th of February 2016. please I need advices she does not intends to stay but just to visit my family because she have good business and my dad is back home so she cant afford to stay in the states more than 3months, how long does it take to apply again thanks |

Trezeget: I can all but guarantee that this is not what happened during the interview. We have the ability to interpret nearly every language in Nigeria within our Consular sections and regularly do so. Can she apply again? Sure, but based on the information she actually provided during the last interview she may not overcome 214(b) at this time. 3 Likes |

@ LagosNIV's please do you mean she cant get a b1b2 visa again, when i asked her what happened, she narrated that the only question she was asked was that what is she going there for, and she replied she want to go visit her son family. that is just it and what do you think is the way forward please |

Dear VO, I already have the visa B1/B2 but I need a further clarification on the entry point. While applying for the above visa one of my uncles who stay in Atlanta gave me the invitation. I need to know if it is a must I go straight to Atlanta or I can go to any other state first before going to Atlanta because I have an immediate older brother in Texas who I really wish to see first and spend sometime him and his family before going to see my uncle in Atlanta. I just want to be sure of the point of entry officer because I understand "that officers at the US border have the absolute power to grant, or refuse entry" Though I have travelled severally to UK but never been to US that is why I'm seeking more knowledge before taking final decision. Than you. |

jay500: Applying sooner is better - the visa is valid for 2 years and it might take upwards of a month to get an appointment. As far as documents are concerned, you can start by reading this thread. 1 Like |

Trezeget: She can apply again if she believes she is qualified. Also, I am telling you that more information was conveyed than that one question, whether you want to accept that or not. It doesn't help you to post your questions in the immigrant visa forum either, maybe she told the VO she planned to immigrate to the US and live there forever? 2 Likes |

LordDerick: The US visa grants you access to the United States, but as you mentioned, USCBP is the ultimate authority. If you choose to enter at another POE they may ask you why. Also, please be reminded that there is no need to ask this question in the immigrant visa forum as well. It is not relevant to the immigrant visa process. 2 Likes |

It would be good if Mr justwise as moderator could place a "stickey" at the top of the page here. (If that is possible.) There are too many people posting the same basic question over and over. They never bother to read any previous posts or try to search for information. V.O. tries but then next post is another "tell me everything" or "what are my chances!" 2 Likes |

Good day VO, I applied for a B1/B2 visa with my wife in 2014 and got a section 214 B denial. We simply wants to go for holiday. Now I have a technical trainning to go for in Maynard, MA fully sponsored by my office and it's so important for my career growth. My question is this can I use the portion where I was asked to explain if I had been denied visa( I am going to say yes, which is the truth) to highlight my ties and what has changed further since the denial. I had been promoted, increase in salary income, bought a brand new bus for the catering and hospitality business I run with my wife, the startup business of 2 years then is almost 4 now and with increasing revenue. Bought a residential property etc. these are things that cannot be reflected in the form I am filling, I had worked with the same bank for over 8 years and still there as well, so nothing much is changing in those areas, except for the promotion and salary . I did not want to commit any wrongdoing in this hence trying to seek for clarification. Thanks for your time. |

Re: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by Nobody: 7:05am On Feb 22, 2016 |
BTOLDB: You should answer the questions directly - there is no need to explain your current situation because that is the point of the visa interview. |
Re: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by Nobody: 7:08am On Feb 22, 2016 |
yinkaspeaks: Your visa will not already have to be renewed to accompany your daughter, but it would not hurt to go ahead and renew it before her interview if you are planning to travel with her (or at the same time). 1 Like |
