The Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria will embark on three days planned power outage as part of the measures of carrying out routine maintenance and repairs of power facilities in Lagos and its environs .

The planned blackout that will emanate from the Akangba Sub-Region is to enable engineers and technicians carry out annual preventive maintenance on the secondary breaker and bus isolator, which are very important equipment in the power distribution network.

Mrs. Celestina Osin, Senior Manager Public Affairs, TCN, Lagos Region, who confirmed the development to daily Independent in a statement yesterday said, the planned disruption of electricity supply to some parts of the Lagos metropolis would start from 10:00am-2:00pm on Thursday, July 10 to 13 ,2014.

According to her, the outage will see consumers in Ajele, Marina, Broad Street, Ijora Cause Way, Ijora Olopa and their environs being without electricity supply for the period that the maintenance work will last as about 30MW of load will be interrupted because two power transformers, a 30MVA and a 45MVA, will be out of service during the period.
