MiguelMi6: Excuse me,but what is Un-african about a sensible government allowing consesnting non-threatning persons express their sexuality as they will.Come to think of it,the laws have been suspended,it still gives you headache,no arrest for gay persons.Do you for a second assume that 14years imprisonment will change a person's gayness.Being gay is absurd. Petty theft isn't threat still it's absurd. Though I disagree with the details of the anti-gay law it does two crucial things 1) It sends a clear message to the West that there is a limit to it's cultural imperialism which only fools will applaud or ignore 2) It spurs the need for Africans too dig deep and achieve a renaissance (an African equivalent of the Meiji revolution, only that this time Africans will be the wiser, we have seen how the Japanese suffer from adopting certain aspects of the West fast-food, for instance). 1 Like |

I am only quoting because I studied Japanese History at my A Levels. Sensational stuff in the turbulent Meiji era. Wish Nigeria had that much detail n drama in her history |
