There is nothing to be excited about. He asked a legitimate question and the minister or her aides should provide answers.

By these two statements below, The Secretary-General of ASCSN, Mr.
Alade Lawal is lying

The organisation also stated that records at its disposal showed clearly that the staff strength in the entire public service was about 870,000, and not 1.2 million being carried about by the minister, “unless there is a hidden agenda somewhere.”

- whereas the staff strength of the core civil service is about 100,000, as against 870,000 staff for the entire public service.

Who are core civil servants?

The Pension thieves, NNPC Staff, Custom and Immigration Staff or who?

If am not mistaken, I have read before on this forum you are a Deeper Life pastor. This is how you defend and deflect church funds reported missing without calling for proper investigations? How did you come about that contraption up there or is this just your usual defense on anything PDP and GEJ's government before reasoning? That's a serious allegation that deserves all serious investigation before any form of conclusion.

NB: Correct me if am wrong on your DL pastoral stuff.

it is a common knowledge that
Nigerian political office holders are the highest paid
in the world, with most of them earning more than
the President of the United States of America, while
Nigerian workers are among the least paid in Africa.
Lawal added that the Federal Government should not hide
under the guise of high wage bill as a
justification to continue to pay peanut as salary to
civil servants in particular and other public service
employees in general, “while the political office
holders continue to rampage and pillage the national
treasury with impunity.”
Tuche!!! Nuff sed!!

eaglechild: Alade seems to be speaking from both sides of his mouth, on one hand you admit that Nigerian politicians are the most expensive to pay, on the other you say the wage bill is overestimated.

Yet again you go complaining that civil servants are underpaid.

If you are to pass across any info to someone as smart as NOI then learn to speak coherently.

Political office holders are not civil servants. I think your statement is what lacks coherence.

mu2sa2: The biggest challenge we face today as a nation is that politicians have created a huge disparity in wages to their advantage. The minimum monthly wage in the civil service is 18,000 naira but even the lowest political office holder grabs hundreds of thousands of naira without doing any work. Some of them dont even have a fixed pay - they just pillage the treasury with reckless abandon. What is salary to the president, governors, lg chairmen, when they can spend billions as "security vote" without accounting for it! I laugh when people complain about lack of development despite the huge revenue accruing to the 3 tiers of govt. The money goes into the pockets of political office holders and the few civil servants whose collusion is needed to perpetrate fraud.
Okonjo-Iweala is a fraud herself. She is paid in dollars. Is dollars our national currency? As long as we do not have honest, selfless and visionary leaders we are doomed in this country.

My brother, i stand with you gidigba. Nigeria needs her own SPECIALLY DESIGNED JERRY RAWLINGS to set things straight. Desperate situations call for desperate measures.
Re: Civil Servants Fault Okonjo-iweala On N1.8tn Wage Bill by anonimi: 8:33am On Jul 25, 2014
Neyoor: The Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria has asked the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to substantiate how N1.8tn is being spent annually on wages of workers in the federal public service.

The organisation also stated that records at its disposal showed clearly that the staff strength in the entire public service was about 870,000, and not 1.2 million being carried about by the minister, “unless there is a hidden agenda somewhere.”

The Secretary-General of ASCSN, Mr. Alade Lawal, in a statement obtained by The PUNCH on Thursday, emphasised that it had “become necessary for the minister to give the graphic details of the amount so that Nigerians could be better informed on the issue.”

Is it that Mr. Alade Lawal does not have ANY "records at his disposal" as he claims or the records he has are INADEQUATE hence he should defer to the Minister more comprehensive records, abi
Otherwise he should provide the graphic details he desires from the "records at his disposal". Shikena.

It is time to call the BLUFF of these equally CORRUPT civil servants, most of whom are living well beyond their legitimate salaries hence don't agitate for a COMPARATIVE wage with the political office holders angry

Not only her but the whole administration of president jonathan

This administration couldn't implement the minimum wage in all states of the federation

This administration removed fuel subsidy to punish a few people...at the detriment of over 170million other innocent people...the most illogical move ever...

This same government promised to address the issue of epileptic power supply yet has achieved little in that aspect as well

This same seemingly “successful” administration couldn't deal with insurgency and has yet to account for the thousands of lives lost to insurgents since inception...e.t.c

Yet this administration jumps at every opportunity to point accusing fingers at opposition parties who don't want them to SUCCEED

This administration fawns at and celebrates mediocrity even in its smallest forms and terms it “SUCCEESS”

This administration goes about witch hunting their assumed enemies

And yet they come out at the end of the DAY to defend themselves with utter buffoneery.

The cries of a failed state.
