muhammad23: It must now be very clear that Nigerians no longer vote for the "Party"..but for the "Person". And obviously, APC chieftains must now understand that foisting an unpopular candidate on the masses will only make them lose gallantly at the polls, When Ekiti voted, they voted for Fayose not PDP, Osun has clearly voted Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola not APC...The lesson is simple: Let internal democracy thrive in APC..Let the people chose who they want to lead them, and watch how stronger the party would grow to be...I need enlightenment from the close watchers of Osun politics...Did the last minute defection of Oyinlola had any effect on the election results? |

muhammad23: I need enlightenment from the close watchers of Osun politics...Did the last minute defection of Oyinlola had any effect on the election results?no, oyinlola even lost his own ward . The issue was the candidate. Every pdp member knows that omisore wasn't a strong sellable candidate or product ,but due to his desperation for the party ticket ,many better qualified candidate withdrew from the party slot race . THe result would have been difference if pdp had presented another person.for pdp to have polled close to 200 k votes proves the point that pdp is still a force to reckon with in osun state |

On a more serious note, what we are after in Nigeria is free and fair election (Let people's vote count, even if they vote for the least popular party. Olusegun Mimiko won Ondo State governorship election in 2007 on the platform of labour party on the account of his personal popularity and not party base) May the Lord bless Nigeria. Amen |

The deployment of troops and the presence of heavy security men to osun gave the people confidence to exercise their voting right without fear. If it is true that inec has confirmed aregbe has winner ,congrats to apc . The battle shifts to other states definitely apc is dropping 2 more states in the south west. Gbenga Daniel has draged that Acronym PDP in the mud. Even with the change of acronym, they need to wait 15yrs for people to forget. If you are from Ogun and see what Amosun is doing, you will conclude PDP will recapture the state by DEC 50th. 2 Likes |

Stop this self consolation, bro. Omisore is the BEST candidate in PDP's camp! You actually think Jonathan's desperation for votes in 2015 would make him field the second best? I laugh! BTW, Oyinlola' s ward loss cannot be unrelated to his late declaration for APC... 2 Likes |

It is obvious that almost half of the pdp votes were bought, it is evident in Ede North and South. |
